At Camp awesome this week all of our lessons centered around this verse…
This verse contains the words that God first gave Moses when he was going to lead his people to the promise land…God first gave these words to Moses, Moses gave them to his understudy Joshua and now Joshua is leading multitudes into something that is really hard.
Kids we need your help to share this verse with the adults because i am not sure that they know it
It will be on the screen, Kids will you all stand up and read it with me
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
You learned this verse this past week.
So Kids and Adults. In a few minutes our PJ and PH are going to help me on stage
How do we find courage?
-Not in our own abilities
-Not in our own strength

3 ways in which we can find our courage:
We find strength and courage in a relationship with God
We find strength and courage in a relationship with God
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
The first words in verse 7 is the Lord is my strength and my shield...
This comes from relationship with God
So our courage has to come from giving our heart over to God daily!
You know we are tempted in this world to give our heart and our allegiance over to a lot of things
When we don’t even think about it, we tend to live by default and our stuff is our strength and shield
Our money is our strength and shield
Our personality is our strength and shield
We make all kinds of things our strength and shield except for the Lord...
And the way that the Lord is your strength and shield is to have a relationship with God
We find courage through God’s word
My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word.
God’s word is the place where God speaks.
We have God’s word available to us and
We find courage through fellowship with others
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

3 ways in which you can encourage others
I can set a good example
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
Kids…When you know the right thing to do, one of the ways in which you
I can help others follow God with my words
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
I can put my hope & trust in Jesus
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
When you live like Jesus in tough situations then you are an example…When your hope and trust is in Jesus then you can have the power to Obey God when life gets hard.

Sometimes if your not an encouragement you can be a stumbling block …Don’t be a stumbling block
It always begins with surrendering your heart to jesus
