Credibility to the Claims of chapter 3.
The Claims that righteousness isn’t in the Law; but in grace through faith.
To which Paul proves through Abrahams faith in God and also David’s.
The main verse being that of
Romans 4:5 “And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,”
Abraham (1-2)
Belief credited as righteousness (3)
Faith contrasted with works (4-5)
The forgiveness of Sins (6-8)
He was justified by faith, not circumcision (9-12)
Circumstances behind Abraham’s circumcision (9-10)
Circumcision as the sign and seal of his faith (11)
Abraham the father of all who come by faith (11-12)
He received the promise by faith (13-17)
Not through the law but by faith (13)
If by the law, faith has no value (14-15)
The promise comes by faith to all (16)
Abraham the father of us all (17)
Exercised faith at the birth of Isaac (18-25)
Abraham the father of many nations (18)
