After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven.
And
*1* Μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον, καὶ ἰδοὺ, θύρα ἠνεῳγμένη ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ, καὶ ἡ
the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying,
φωνὴ ἡ πρώτη ἣν ἤκουσα ὡς σάλπιγγος λαλούσης μετ ̓ ἐμοῦ, λέγουσα,
Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.
\\ Ἀνάβα ὧδε, καὶ δείξω σοι ἃ δεῖ γενέσθαι μετὰ ταῦτα.
\\ Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in
*2* καὶ εὐθέως ἐγενόμην ἐν πνεύματι· καὶ ἰδοὺ, θρόνος ἔκειτο ἐν τῷ
heaven, and One sat on the throne.
\\ οὐρανῷ, καὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου καθήμενος·
And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; \\ \\
*3* καὶ ὁ καθήμενος ἦν ὅμοιος ὁράσει λίθῳ ἰάσπιδι καὶ σαρδίνῳ· καὶ ἶρις
and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.
\\ κυκλόθεν τοῦ θρόνου ὅμοία ὁράσει σμαραγδίνῳ.
\\ Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the
*4* καὶ κυκλόθεν τοῦ θρόνου θρόνοι εἴκοσι καὶ τέσσαρες· καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς
thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting,
θρόνους εἴδον τοὺς εἴκοσι καὶ τέσσαρας πρεσβυτέρους καθημένους,
clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of
περιβεβλημένους ἐν ἱματίοις λευκοῖς, καὶ ἔσχον ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς
gold on their heads.
\\ αὐτῶν στεφάνους χρυσοῦς.
\\ And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices.
*5* καὶ ἐκ τοῦ θρόνου ἐκπορεύονται ἀστραπαὶ καὶ βρονταί καὶ φωναὶ.
Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the
καὶ ἑπτὰ λαμπάδες πυρὸς καιόμεναι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου, αἵ εἰσι τὰ
seven Spirits of God.
\\ ἑπτὰ πνεύματα τοῦ Θεοῦ· \\
Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal.
And in
*6* καὶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου θάλασσα ὑαλίνη, ὁμοία κρυστάλλῳ.
καὶ ἐν
the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures
μέσῳ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ κύκλῳ τοῦ θρόνου τέσσαρα ζῶα γέμοντα
full of eyes in front and in back.
ὀφθαλμῶν ἔμπροσθεν καὶ ὄπισθεν.

The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like
*7* καὶ τὸ ζῶον τὸ πρῶτον ὅμοιον λέοντι, καὶ τὸ δεύτερον ζῶον ὅμοιον
a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth
μόσχῳ, καὶ τὸ τρίτον ζῶον ἔχον τὸ πρόσωπον ὡς ἀνθρώπος, καὶ τὸ
living creature was like a flying eagle.
\\ τέταρτον ζῶον ὅμοιον ἀετῷ πετωμένῳ· \\ \\
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes
*8* καὶ τέσσαρα ζῶα, ἓν καθ ̓ ἑαυτο εἴχον ἀνὰ πτέρυγας ἕξ κυκλόθεν, καὶ
around and within.
And they do not rest day or ἔσωθεν γέμοντα ὀφθαλμῶν, καὶ ἀνάπαυσιν οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἡμέρας καὶ
night, saying: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who
νυκτὸς, λέγοντα, Ά̔γιος, ἅγιος, ἅγιος, Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ, ὁ
was and is and is to come!
\\ ἦν καὶ ὁ ὢν καὶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος.
\\ Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him
*9* καὶ ὅταν δώσουσι τὰ ζῶα δόξαν καὶ τιμὴν καὶ εὐχαριστίαν τῷ
who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, \\ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ τῷ θρόνου, τῷ ζῶντι εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων, \\ \\
the twenty-four elders fall down before Him
*10* πεσοῦνται οἱ εἴκοσι καὶ τέσσαρες πρεσβύτεροι ἐνώπιον τοῦ
who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever καθημένου ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου, καὶ προσκυνοῦσι τῷ ζῶντι εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας
and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne,
τῶν αἰώνων, καὶ βαλλοῦσι τοὺς στεφάνους αὐτῶν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου,
saying:
λέγοντες, \\ \\
You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power;
*11* Ἄξιος εἶ, Κύριε, λαβεῖν τὴν δόξαν , καὶ τὴν τιμὴν καὶ τὴν δύναμιν·
For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.
ὅτι σὺ ἔκτισας τὰ πάντα, καὶ διὰ τὸ θέλημά σου ἐσὶ καὶ ἐκτίσθησαν.
