I. The Power Jesus Gave. V.1

1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
He gave power.
Definition - the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality.
If the devil would not cooperate they had power from Jesus to move it along.
He gave them authority.
Definition - the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience.
Thry could command and enforce the devils.
He gave them ability.
Cure - relieve (a person or animal) of the symptoms of a disease or condition.
No matter what they had it was cured at their touch.

II. The Preaching Jesus Gave. V.2

2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
They were sent with a ministry. “he sent them…preach…heal the sick”
They were sent with a mission. “to preach”
They were sent with a message. “the kingdom of God”

III. The Purpose Jesus Gave. Vs.3-6

3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
Residence. V.4
4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
Rejection. V.5
5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
Rewards. V.6
6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
