Introduction:
Chapter 1 of Romans had finished with revealing that there is no human being that has an excuse to dismiss that God is the creator of all and that He is in charge of it all as well.
In verses :18-:32 we hear from Paul how each Gentile is condemned and is guilty:
Romans 1:18-20 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
The Gentiles in Rome were called to recognize the guilt that is on their heads.
Then to what degree that they would ignore their guilt and pursue their own perversions.
Paul states the scary part:
Romans 1:26-27 “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
God allows us to do all the wickedness that our hearts desire, and give us over to into it.
Which highlights our free will to choose how we honor or dishonor our Creator with our hearts, mind, bodies, and souls.
The Gentiles in Rome are given this information so they will have no excuse and be guilty of their sin nature before God.
When we are confronted with truth about our decisions, it should be viewed as an act of mercy and grace.
