A Way To Get Away

Introduction

Prayer
Welcome
I know it can be hard on young people to live as believers in Christ in today’s world. you might think us older people don’t understand, but honestly we do, but sometimes we don’t always relate to you and your struggles in the right way.
Please understand the same temptations you experience today, are the same ones we experienced we were you all’s age. The only difference is the temptations of our day weren’t as fast, convincing, and graphic as your’s today.
Always remember, the devil is always going to be the devil, and Jesus is always gong to be Jesus. The bible says in Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Temptation

Everybody experiences temptation. Either we are experiencing temptations that come from outside influences or inside of us. You all have outside temptations coming at you several times in a day.
evil thoughts
evil desires
social media/peer pressure
stay away from the church, the bible, and others who are living the life of righteousness.
The one difference between our day and you all’s day is how fast temptations come through mobile devices and it’s content. You all are being tempted to commit :
immoral sex acts through online pornography.
violence through the types of games such as Call to Duty.
desire material things and steal if you have to get it.
Our adversary (enemy) the devil is working every minute of the day to cheat you out of the good life and Salvation Jesus is offering and accept the death and eternal curse of death he is offering.

Sin

The reason why the devil is tempting you is he wants you to commit sin.
Not only do we experience the results of sin in our eternal life, we experience the destructiveness of sin in this present life...

Resisting Sin

James 4:7 says “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
All we have to do is say no to the temptation the devil brings us...
I know you’re saying; “But pastor it’s not that easy. You don’t understand.” Yes I do because I fell for his tricks too. And all I had to do was resist.

Conclusion

Here’s what you can do if, and I pray you are, serious about where you’re going to spend eternity:
Just like us more mature folks, Jesus was tempted by the devil too. Why? Because the devil didn’t want Jesus to be the sacrifice God intended. So the devil tempted Him in the wilderness. But Jesus got the victory over Satan, here’s how:
He resisted Satan by using the words we read in the bible. You can do the same.
God will not ever allow us to be tempted so hard that we can’t be vistorious. He wants us to win. He’s going to show us a way out of that temptation, all we have to do is receive it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 in the Message translation says: “No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.”
I pray you remember that the Lord will help you if you want help! And help can come in all kinds of ways:
you might remember what you’ve read in the bible or heard what someone said.
your friend or relative might urge you not to go and do what you’re thinking about doing.
you might experience delays or it’s just hard to get there.
Either way, God has a way out for you!
