Give Thanks Sincerely
Know that God is working out His will in your life and give thanks!
Thanksgiving is one of the ways that we guard our hearts from turning from God. Since the first step of turning from God is unthankfulness - Romans 1:21 “For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Come thou Fount of Every Blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace. Streams of mercy never ceasing call for songs of loudest praise! Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the Mount, I’m fixed upon it - Mount of Thy redeeming Love.

Don’t Quench the Spirit - God is at work, be sensitive to what He is doing in your life. Listen to His Word and follow His leading. John 16:13 “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
Don’t Despise Prophecy - The prophetic word was revelatory (declaring a message from God) and expository (declaring God’s Revealed Word).
Test all Things - Careful Examination, not blind trust.
The Fruit of their life and teaching - Matt 7:15-16 ““Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?”
The Fulfillment and faithfulness of their messenger - a true prophet will only speak what God has said.
The Focus of their message - The focus is on Christ not self. John 16:14 “He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”

Paul’s prayer was for their entire person to be sanctified.
You have a body - the Lord is to be honored in it. 1 Cor 6:20 “for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
You have a soul - mind will and emotions
You have a spirit - communication with God. 1 Cor 15:45 “Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”
