Introduction:
Question: Why should we pray for the lost in Clear Lake to Be saved?
Does our Prayer really Matter if God is the one who does the work of Salvation? Why
As believers, we have a vital role in advancing the Kingdom of God.
I Believe that One of the most powerful and impactful actions we can take is to pray for our community to hear the life-transforming message of the Gospel.
Through our prayers, we are lifting up our friends family and Neighbors to the God who has the ability to save them. invite God's presence, power, and love to touch the hearts of those around us.
For a couple of minutes before we go out and Prayer I want us to delve into the importance and effectiveness of praying for our community to encounter the Gospel.
Scripture:
2 Corinthians 4:3–4 ESV
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
What does this verse say about our neighbors who are not believers in Jesus?
Satan has blinded them to the truth of the gospel
How has Satan blinded people to the truth of the gospel in our community?
The American dream, Temporary pleasures, Money, .......
In our world today, many individuals live without knowledge of the life-changing power of the Gospel. .
They remain blind to its truth, trapped in the grasp of and lies of Satan.
However, we as the redeemed, as those whose Eyes have been opened to the gospel truth- have been called to intercede on behalf of our communities. We have been called to pray fro the salvation of others-
Understanding the Spiritual Battle: In this passage we are reminded that the Satan seeks to blind the minds of unbelievers, veiling the truth of the Gospel. This means that we must recognize that our prayers for our community's salvation are not merely requests but engagements in a spiritual battle. understands that Through prayer, we partner with God to break down the spiritual strongholds that hinder people from receiving the Good News of Jesus in their lives.
When we pray for the lost we are calling on the Only one who has the power to speak and make obey.
3 quick points i want us to consider about our prayer for the lost
1. We should Pray for Our Community with Passion and Compassion:
When we pray for our community our hearts should be moved by the lostness of those around us, Are hearts should be broken as we think about the eternal destiny they are headed for without Christ in their lives.
We should pray for their salvation the way we would pray for healing for our own child that has been declared terminal
2 We should Pray that we will see the Divine Appointments and Open Doors God brings us:
I believe that Our Prayer opens doors that no-one Can shut, But I also believe that as we pray for these open doors God gives us the vision to see them.
. As we pray for our community , l I urge you to specifically ask God to orchestrate divine appointments and opportunities for the Gospel to be shared. And Also pray that Your heart is ready to see the open door and go in with the gospel,
We should Pray for other believers in our community to be bold and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, that they would share the message of salvation with clarity and power.
3. We should Pray for other believers
Pray for each other and other Christians in our community to be bold and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, that they would share the message of salvation with clarity and power.
We need to pray for one another- pray that We would have gospel boldness in our community
Do you have a yearning for the lost to be saved in our communities?
English Puritan Richard Baxter wrote,
Oh, if you have the hearts of Christians or of men in you, let them yearn towards your poor ignorant, ungodly neighbors. Alas, there is but a step betwixt them and death and hell; many hundred diseases are waiting ready to seize on them, and if they die unregenerate, they are lost forever. Have you hearts of rock, that cannot pity men in such a case as this? If you believe not the Word of God, and the danger of sinners, why are you Christians yourselves? If you do believe it, why do you not bestir yourself to the helping of others? (cited in I.D.E. Thomas, ed., A Puritan Golden Treasury [Edinburgh: Banner of Truth, 1977], 92)
Conclusion:
As a church we should be commited to fervently praying for our community to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We should be praying that God Would remove the lies of Satan that he has on our neighbors
We should pray that God will Draw them to himself
We should pray that ur lives live out the gospel message before them
We should pray that God would give us open doors to share the message
And we should pray for Gospel boldness for ourselves and other Believer sin or community
I believe this with all my heart- When a church prays for the gospel to go fourth - They will see gospel transformations happening in their ministries.
