“Men do have Questions”

John 3:4-5

Men have questions about Jesus, one of the biggest questions that men have about Jesus is (1) how can he be God and Man all at the same time? Another question is (2) how can a man die and then come back alive?  There are many other question when it comes to God, but today I just want to deal with these two. (1) How can Jesus be 100% God and 100% Man? The first thing we must understand is that God is spirit according to John 4:24 (NLT) 24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” [i] .  The first thing we can understand is that we can not see a spirit.

The second thing is that Jesus was not born of the seed of man but the spirit. Now all of us were born of the seed of a man. This is what make us sinners, (2) how can a man die and then come back alive?  Jesus on the other hand was born of the spirit which makes him sinless this is why he could not stay in the grave. For the bible say Romans 6:23 (NLT)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. [ii]  There was no sin found in him, so death could not keep him. Notice the Calvary account; (a.) Jesus is beaten unrecognizable, (b.) then he is given a heavy cross to carry up to Calvary’s to, (c.) on the way he falls seven times while being beaten, (d.) on Calvary nails are driven into his hands and feet. (f.) the cross is dropped into a hole now Jesus hanging high and stretched wide, (g.) after he ask God to forgive us, he died. (h.) and then Scripture was filled even when it said not one bone in his body shell be broken John 19:36 (NLT)
36 These things happened in fulfillment of the Scriptures that say, “Not one of his bones will be broken,” [iii]

3 Points:

1. The Query

2. The Question

3. The Qualifier

 1. Point

A query is to ask a question especially with a desire for and authoritative information.  A query is searching for the right question. Example: people will come to you with a question and say but I mean this, but my question is…  This is a kind of Query.

Nicodemus wanted to know how come clean of this sham I have.

a)     How can a man be born when he is old?

b)    Men have questions

c)     There is no age limit when it comes to allowing Christ in your life…

d)    Nicodemus is speaking here in the “historical presents,” and such occurrences dramatize the event described as if the reader were there watching the event occur.[iv]

1.     It puts me in the text, if though I were there.

2.     It also suggest that I had same questions about the subject

3.     It also cause’s us to look closer at “what does it mean to be born again”

2. Point

a)     Here is the question?

b)    How can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb?

c)     You do not enter into her womb a second time

d)    Another nine months for momma… may God forbid.

e)     Nicodemus just did not know he was ignorant to the matter…

f)      Sometime we just don’t know something about life and we need to be taught.

g)     At least Nicodemus had since to go the Greatest teacher of all Jesus Christ who is able to teach us about all things.

h)     Somebody my say he is not here, he gave you pastor and teacher and bible and the Holy Spirit to help you.

3 Point

The Qualifier, The answer

a)     I you ask Jesus he will, but you have to ask.

b)    He tells Nicodemus Except a man be born of water and of the spirit

c)     Every Christians believe in lies on Calvary

d)    To assure that he would take our place in death he had to die

e)     Now, remember to thief on the right and the left, their legs were broken, right

f)      Now when it came to Jesus the bible say not a bone in his body shall be broken, right

g)     So what they did unannounced according to jn 19:34 The soldier’s stabbing of Jesus’ side caused significant penetration because of the sudden flow of blood and water. Either the spear pierced Jesus’ heart or the chest cavity was pierced at the bottom. In either event, John mentioned the outflow of “blood and water” to emphasize that Jesus was unquestionably dead.[1]

e)     The water is symbolic for regeneration or rejuvenation

f)      Out came the water for cleansing power, fixing you up…

g)     The water should always keep us looking for what he did on Calvary, it’s a pointer of him dying for our sins.

h)     Let look at water:

1.     water descends

2.     water is clear

3.     water goes where it wants

4.     water sustains life

5.     water shape thing, its powerful

Now lets look at the Spirit

1.     the spirit was there with Jesus on the Cross

2.     the spirit descends

3.     the spirit is clear you cant see it

4.     the spirit is just like the wind you feel it, you can’t see, you cant taste it, but you need it.

The Spirit is Invisible and immaterial and powerful

You must be born of water and spirit, and both must have their way this is his nature.
