“Fired up for Jesus”
*John** 2:17*

Intro:
Zeal is and interesting thing for there are different levels of Zeal.
The first type of zeal is just straight acting of a fool.
Uncontrollable emotions having no regard to anything or anybody, in other word just being stooped, doing whatever they want to do without thinking.
Most of the time this is done by excitement of the mind, maybe it’s the first time of doing or hearing something that causes the emotions to react without thinking about what they are doing.
Or sometime is just because of what others are doing around them.
The second type of zeal is doing things and thinking they are the right, because no one hast told you that they are wrong.
Having an idea and thinking that idea is the way things are done.
Not having knowledge of right from wrong, zeal without knowledge is dangers, there is nothing wrong with this type of zeal unless you are taught and then reject the teachings.
You should always get it for your self don’t let anyone tell you something without checking it for yourself.
The last type is having an excitement for something because you have studied it and you know what you know is the truth and you are willing to die for what you know.
No matter what someone says or does you know and believe with every fiber in your body that it is the truth.
You literally have the boldness to stand anywhere and tell someone what it is that you believe.
And you believe in it so much that you can convince anyone to believe what you believe because you have truth about what you know.
Zeal with knowledge is my pray, that every child of God would have Zeal with knowledge.
Knowing the different between light and darkness and wheat from chaff and Heaven from Hell, my pray is that we all be fired up for the Lord Jesus with knowledge and understanding.
All false teaching comes from the lack of knowing the nature of God.
The word Zeal is an *dichotomy*, now a dichotomy is a division or the process of dividing into two especially mutually exclusive or contradictory groups or entities[i]  Now the word in this text i*s the word Zelos which has a few meanings:*
excitement of mind, ardour, fervour of spirit.
1a zeal, ardour in embracing, pursuing, defending anything.
/1a1/ zeal in behalf of, for a person or thing.
/1a2/ the fierceness of indignation, punitive zeal.
1b an envious and contentious rivalry, jealousy.
It comes from the word:
[ii] to boil with heat, to be hot.
1a used of water.
1b metaph.
/1b1/ used of boiling anger, love, zeal, for what is good or bad etc. /1b2/ fervent in spirit, said of zeal for what is good.
Now listen to what the text is saying:
And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
The excitement of my mind, zeal of thine house has eaten me up
Ardour or hard to accomplish zeal of thine house has eaten me up
