The Problem

Have you ever wondered, if God is so good...
why is there so much suffering sickness and war.
Around the world tonight many deny that God exists. if you asked them why, they might give you a variety of reasons.
One question that I got just this week is if God is so good why does He allow so much evil in the world? This is a good question.

The child was reportedly abducted on Thursday from the Braeton Primary and Infant School, which is located in the St Catherine South Police Division in which her parent works. She was found later that day with her throat slashed on Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew. Murdered 8-y-o was cop’s daughter | Lead Stories | Jamaica Gleaner (jamaica-gleaner.com)
Gang violence and estortion is a daily occurence in our little Island nation; I notice that a warning was given to American citizens to avoid unecessary travel to Jamaica because of the high level of risk that is involved in doing so. We are still faced with mordern day slavery and human trafficking. the illicit drug trade seems to be booming worldwide.
we are also faced with all kinds sicknesses and diseases communicable and noncomunicable. If God is so Good then why is there so much evil? It really is fair question. We know that God is all-powerful that’s why we say He’s Omnipotent; We know that He knows everything that’s why we say that He is Omniscient; We know that God can be everywhere at the same time that’s why we say that He is Omni-present. So if God is all that, why doesn’t He do something about what is going on in the world?
The devil really wants to discourage us but we must persevere.
The book of Job gives us some incites as to who is truly behind all of the mischieve and Mehem that is occurring in our world today
1. Moses Wrote Book of Job.—The long years amid desert solitudes were not lost. Not only was Moses gaining a preparation for the great work before him, but during this time, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, he wrote the book of Genesis and also the book of Job, which would be read with the deepest interest by the people of God until the close of time (ST Feb. 19, 1880).
In this narrative Job is described as man of wealth. 1 There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil. 2 Seven sons and three daughters were born to him. 3 His possessions also were 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female donkeys, and very many servants; and that man was the greatest of all the men of the east. 4 His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, “Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually. New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Job 1:1–5.
In verse 6 we seem to be to a different realm and we find ourselves in the company of Angels who are discribed as the sons of God. We seem to be in a meeting that was called by the soverign of the universe that is God Himself but here comes an uninvited guest.
The Bible discribes him this way “You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 “You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared. 14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 “You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you. New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation, 1995), Eze 28:12–15.
We know that he was univited because he is now the enemy of God, this was not always so but didn’t you hear about it? John in the book of Revelation wrote that there was war in heaven of all the places. John the Apostle said Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Re 12:7–9.
This all happened because Lucifer son of the morning or שַׁחַר (bēn šǎ·ḥǎr) Son of the Dawn James Swanson, Dictionary of Biblical Languages with Semantic Domains : Hebrew (Old Testament) (Oak Harbor: Logos Research Systems, Inc., 1997). Lucifer was besides himself 13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Is 14:13–14.
And that’s the problem sin is always about I; it’s selfcenteredness, and selfishness.
Well that couldn’t happen, so He was cast out to the Earth. The great controversy between Christ and Satan, that has been carried forward for nearly six thousand years, is soon to close; and the wicked one redoubles his efforts to defeat the work of Christ in man’s behalf and to fasten souls in his snares. To hold the people in darkness and impenitence till the Saviour’s mediation is ended, and there is no longer a sacrifice for sin, is the object which he seeks to accomplish. Ellen Gould White, The Great Controversy Between Christ and Satan, vol. 5, Conflict of the Ages Series (Pacific Press Publishing Association, 1911), 518.
Francis D. Nichol, ed., The Seventh-Day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 3 (Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1977), 1140.
All the sicknesses that we see in this world that devil caused it, the natural disasters it’s the devil, the murders, the gang violence, the drug trafficing, the political curruption, the economic meltdowns, the wars and rumors of wars, the poverty that exist, The pain of losing our loved ones to death because of a cronic disease that’s all the devil but there is a solution

The Solution

You see in all the scenarios about lucifer son of the morning who became Satan the adversary, we see that he was fallen, We see that he was cut down, he will be brought down to hell to sides of the pit; because he is filled with iniquity. 16 “By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. 17 “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you. 18 “You defiled your sanctuaries By the multitude of your iniquities, By the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you. 19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever.” ’ ”
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Eze 28:16–19.
This war has been going on for a long time now but there is good news and the good news is, every time that the devil encountered Jesus the devil lost; they fought in heaven and devil lost, they fought in the wilderness for forty days and the devil lost, they fought in the garden of gethsemene and the devil lost; they fought on calvary, I mean the devil desparately tried that get Jesus to come down from that Cross but Jesus look to the future possibility of our salvation and He saw the travail of His soul and He was satisfied and Jesus set His face as a flint and stayed on that Cross for you and I; again the devil Lost. The devil tried to seal Jesus in a tomb with a Stone and set gaurds at the entrance, the devil thought he won, he thought death had finally conquered Jesus but God that father called an emergency meeting in heaven with His sons the angelic host; God had an errand to give the fastest and mightiest of the angels and I suppose it was Gabriel that had taken the space that Lucifer once had. The mission was urgent the servival of the universe was dependent on the success of this mission and the angel Gabriel was anxious to carry out this mission we know he took off too fast because he could not land with his feet he had to use his wings to cushion the landing and was still an earthquake; Jesus SON of the LIVING GOD your father calls you and up from the grave HE arouse the devil lost again.

The Transformation

I know that we are all going through stuff; emotional stuff, financial stuff, Physical stuff, Spiritual stuff, that the devil has cause in your life but you are not alone God is on your side but you have to exercise a little faith be like Job and say 25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; 26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, 27 Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), Job 19:25–27.
