With that let me give the circumstances for verse five.
Although the church at Philippi was ideal in many respects, and Paul had occasion to commend the saints warmly, yet unfortunately there was an undercurrent of strife.
There was a difference of opinion between two women, Euodia and Syntyche in (4:2).
Now, it probably didn’t seem like a big deal with these two ladies and the rest of the folks there; we don’t even know what the difference of views were over, but we know since Paul brings it up; there must have be some urgency there for him to do so.
