With that let me give the circumstances for verse five.

Although the church at Philippi was ideal in many respects, and Paul had occasion to commend the saints warmly, yet unfortunately there was an undercurrent of strife.

There was a difference of opinion between two women, Euodia and Syntyche in (4:2).

Now, it probably didn’t seem like a big deal with these two ladies and the rest of the folks there; we don’t even know what the difference of views were over, but we know since Paul brings it up; there must have be some urgency there for him to do so.

Rom 15:6  That ye may with one mind /and/ one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Co 1:10  Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and /that/ there be no divisions among you; but /that/ ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Phi 1:27  Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
