Scripture: Lk 10:30-35

30 Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’

24 … But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. -- 1 Cor 12:24-26

By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. -- Jn 13:35

1. Provide Immediate Relief

He went to him and bound uup his wounds, pouring on oil and wine ... -- v.34a

2. Carry Them to Safety

... Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn ... -- v.34b

3. Set Them Up for Recovery

... and took care of him -- v.34c

And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back. -- v.35

4. Have Compassion

But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.” -- v.33
