Read Psalm 23:1-6. Do you have a hard time coming to some decisions? Do you find yourself prevaricating? Perhaps you’re afraid to make the wrong decision.
How do we know when we’re making a right decision? Is it a feeling? A sense of peace and calm, perhaps? Or do we look for advice amongst the many self-help articles we can find on the Internet - 5 Steps to Making the Right Decision Every Time, for example? Maybe you take a supernatural approach to decision-making and look for a miraculous sign that you’re making the right choice - if the next car that comes around the corner is red, then I know I’m doing the right thing?
The problem with these signs is they can be deceptive. Our feelings can trick us. There isn’t a proven formula for making the right decision every time. The miraculous sign you put your faith in could just be a coincidence.
Instead, the best way to know you’re making a right decision is simply to follow God’s guidance. He will guide you along the right paths. He will get you to the right places. When you have a decision to make, he is there with you, guiding you every step of the way.
If you want to make the right decision, then simply let God guide you to it.

Think It Over

Think about the following:
What do you look for when you are deciding if your decisions are in God’s Will - a feeling, a formula, a miraculous sign, or something else?
