Charlie and Kelsey's Wedding

Greeting and Prayer

Welcome! We have come together in the presence of God to witness the joining together of Charlie and Kelsey in the bond of marriage. Marriage is such a sacred blessing that God gives us. He established it at the beginning of time when He noted that it was not good for man to be alone. While a blessing it is also a major responsibility not just to one another but to God. We are here today to celebrate the coming together of Charlie and Kelsey as they vow to each other and to God to pursue this life together. Marriage is not to be entered into lightly, but soberly and deliberately and in reverent fear of God. Charlie and Kelsey thank you for joining them and sharing in this very special day. Let’s go to the Lord in prayer. I want you to spend this time to pray over Charlie and Kelsey. And as you do remember to pray for them and their marriage as you thank of them.

Giving away

Who is giving this woman to be married to this man?
*Crowd May be seated*

Personal Story

I first met Kelsey and Charlie in the fall of 2019. They have become so special to my family and I over the last 4 years.
Ariel and I have had the great pleasure of going through premarital counseling with them over the last 4 months and it has be a blessing getting to see them grow as a couple, see the love they have for one another, see their passion for one another but the greatest thing I have witnessed in getting to know them is to see how much each of them desires to see the other grow. Both spiritually, in maturity and physically. We have clearly seen them fall in love with each other more and more and it is my honor to stand here today and marry these two.

Scripture Reading

In the book of Romans, we read an instruction about love. Paul is writing the church and gives them this instruction that I want to give to you to today. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourself.
When talking to Charlie and Kelsey about marriage one passage that they both really liked that many of you are probably familiar with 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 4 Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, 5 is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. 6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Message Statement of Intention

PLEASE JOIN HANDS 2
Charlie, Do you intend to take this woman whose hand you hold to be your lawful wedded wife; and do you pledge before God and man to love, honor, and protect her through sunshine and shadow alike; keeping yourself unto her alone until death shall separate you? If so, answer “I Do”?
Kelsey, Do you intend to take this man, whose hand you hold, to be your lawful wedded husband; and do you pledge before God and man to be to him a loving and true wife, through sunshine and shadow alike, keeping yourself unto him alone, until death shall separate you? If so, answer “I Do”

Vows

Charlie , repeat after me:
I, Charlie, take you Kelsey, to be my wife,
to have and to hold, from this day forward,
for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
excluding all others, as long as we both shall live.
With God as my witness, I give you my pledge.
Kelsey, repeat after me:
I Kelsey take you Charlie , to be my husband,
to have and to hold, from this day forward,
for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
excluding all others, as long as we both shall live.
With God as my witness, I give you my pledge.

Rings

You have chosen to seal you vows by the giving and receiving of rings. The ring forms a perfect circle, without a beginning or an end, and is thereby a symbol of eternity and signifies the duration of the commitment you are making. Let us now exchange these rings. Charlie and Kelsey, You have the privilege of placing this ring on one another’s finger in virtue of the exclusive covenant relationship into which you now enter.
Repeat after me: I give you this ring, as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am, and with all that I have, I will honor you.
Repeat after me: I give you this ring, as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am, and with all that I have, I will honor you.

Prayer of Blessing Pronouncement

And now, by the authority vested in me as a minister of the Gospel, and in accordance with the laws of the State of Kentucky, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride. Introduction It is my pleasure to introduce to you, for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams!
