Why add Leaders At Eastside?

A “Leader” is someone with God-given ability and responsibility to INFLUENCE a group of God’s people to accomplish God’s PURPOSE for that group.” Rick Warren

Allow yourselves to be persuaded and yielding to your leaders. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. Hebrews 13:17

We add leaders Because God’s PURPOSE IS FOR….

·         Eastside To Be [His RIGHTEOUNESS AND FAITHFULL city] !

26I will restore your judges as in days of old, your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City.” Isaiah 1:26

Whenever the Lord raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the Lord had compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them. Judges 2:18

·         Christ’s Maturity To [DEVELOP in every member] Of Eastside]!

27To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. Colossians 1:27-28

11It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13

As Christ’s Body We Do Not Mature Until Someone Provides The Spiritual Preparation

·         Eastside to Have [models Of His Purpose] !

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph 2:8-10

7Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:7-8
