Turn in your Bibles to John 14:1-6. No I did not say look at Matthew 28, or at Mark 16 or even at Luke 24.
And no, I did not miss quote when I said, John 14, even though you might have expected John 20. Why would we go to John 14 on Easter morning. Honestly pastor that is a passage used a funerals, not Easter morning. So why are we there. Lets read it again, it is short, and may be we can find out.
John 14:1–6 NASB95
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. “And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

I will go.

John 14:3 NASB95
“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
Hebrews 6:20 NASB95
where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
We can trust this promise because of Easter.

I will Prepare

John 14:3 NASB95
“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
1 Peter 1:4–7 NASB95
to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Revelation 21:2 NASB95
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
Revelation 14:13 NASB95
And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.”
Jude 24 NASB95
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,
Revelation 22:1–2 NASB95
Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
You have heard the ad on television, it simply asked the question, “Are you going to heaven or not.”
As my wife pointed out, it would be more honest to ask, “Are you going to heaven or hell.”
You and I will live forever, the only question is, “location, location, location.”
We can trust this promise because of Easter

I will come.

John 14:3 NASB95
“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
Philippians 3:20 NASB95
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
WE can trust this promise because of Easter.
