*A STUDY ON THE 10 COMMANDMENTS*

A study for Christians on the 10 Commandments needs to be done concurrently with a study of the same principles in the New Testament.
As New Testament believers in Jesus Christ, we are no longer under the obligations of the Law.
Christ fulfilled the Law (Matt.
5:17); we are not justified by fulfilling the Law (Gal.
2:16; 3:11), we are dead to the Law (Gal.
2:19), Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law (Gal.
3:13), the Law was a tutor to lead us to Christ (Gal.
3:24), but now that faith has come, we no longer need the tutor (Gal.
3:25).
Now that we have been freed from the Law, why go back and be it’s slave all over again (Gal.
4:9)?
So here’s the principle we (Christians) should live by: *Of the Old Testament Law, only that which Jesus or the Apostles brought into the new covenant (the New Testament) are we obligated to.
All the rest of the Law is done away with and we are no longer slaves to it; Christ set us free from it *(Gal.
5:1).
So, with the principle stated, we are going to do just that with this study.

*Conclusion:*
A short conclusion to this study, or any question about what Old Testament Law we should follow is stated in the gospel of Matthew:
"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"
And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' "This is the great and foremost commandment.
The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

The Apostle Paul also confirmed this in Gal 5:14.
“For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’”
