DON’T GIVE UP - GAL 6:7-10

INTRO: Michael Jordan - cut from his high school basketball team; Albert Einstein-didn’t speak til age 4; failed at everything including insurance salesman; Oprah Winfrey - suffered emotional and sexual abuse.

These are people who didn’t give up. They continued believing that if they breath in their body, they would reap the benefits life had to offer.

Paul is encouraging US today. He’s telling us DON’T GIVE UP!

Because God is faithful, we will reap a harvest of blessing.

GOD’S LAW - 7-8

Gal 6:7-8 “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.”

God has an Immutable law built in creation…You reap what you sow.

You decide (plant) what you will harvest. Garden of Vegetables.

MOCK - TURN UP YOU NOSE AT GOD. Entertain sin (trickery) and expect blessings. JACOB.

Spiritually, if you plant and nurture sin, you will reap decay and death. Wages of sin is death.

But if you live to please the Spirit, you will harvest everlasting life. Ro 2:7 “He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.”

This is God’s immutable law - it cannot be changed.

BUT WE CAN BE CHANGED. FOCUS ON SERVING THE KINGDOM AND DOING GOOD. DON’T GIVE UP!

GOD’S TIMING - 9

Gal 6:9 “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Don’t you get tired of doing good?

Don’t you get tired of being “the one” everybody comes to when they need some money? If you gave all your money to God then you wouldn’t have that problem. LOL

But doing good is the example of Christ. The Bible is encouraging us to PERSEVERE...DON’T GIVE UP!

DO GOOD! In Galatians...

Expel the agitators - URGES PROTEST & REBELLION

love your neighbor as yourself - LAZY; LOVE DUTY

stay in step with the Spirit - NO DISTRACTIONS

bear one another’s burdens - UNITY OF FAITH

At just the right time…not the end time - the right time - KAIROS=fullness of time.

The Birth of a baby - just the right time.

So, Don’t Give Up.

That soul or those souls you’ve been witnessing to, don’t Give UP. Keep inviting them; keep praying for them; keep witnessing - and wait for God’s Timing.

We serve a Sovereign God who promised that His Word will not return void. The ultimate harvest is assured, but it will only come “at the proper time,” that is, in God’s own good time.

GOD’S PEOPLE - 10

Gal 6:10 “Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”

Christians have a responsibility TO DO GOOD to all people. That’s what we call compassion, mercy, and justice.

Feeding of the 5,000 - all weren’t save…but all ate.

So, benevolence should not be restricted.

We are called to do good..perform good works.

The Church is not a social agency but when we have an opportunity we should be of some social good.

BUT - believers have a priority. Like in a home the family needs are met first then those outside the family. ACTS 6

THE STOREHOUSE! - THE FAMILY OF FAITH!

CLOSE: Freedom in Christ is a freedom of service in the divine moments God provides.

The HARVEST is already set on the divine calendar.

Let us SERVE faithfully because of...

God’s Law - reap what you sow

God’s Timing - persevere in the Spirit

God’s People - all persons everywhere are created in His image.

Don’t Give Up.
