There is Always Something to be Thankful For

We loose sight of this when we take our blessings for granted
There is a level of disregard, expectancy and even entitlement
Threats on our conveniences can cause fear, worry and doubt.

Fear can cause us to doubt God's goodness and faithfulness.

Psalm 27:1 ESV
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Understand that God knows exactly what it is that you need in every area of your life.
Whether it be food, clothing, work, housing, medical help, family, recreation, etc. God knows, cares and can provide all that you need.
Matthew 6:30–34 ESV
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Fear is a learned response based on previous experiences, beliefs, and cultural influences.

What experiences or past events may have contributed to a Christians fear?

Ridicule/shaming by friends or family
Lack of Knowledge
Embarrassment
Prayer not answered in the affirmative

Fear can prevent us from taking risks for God

Luke 12:11–12 ESV
And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
How can this promise be applicable to us today?

Fear can lead to anxiety and worry, instead of trusting in God -

Philippians 4:6 ESV
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Christians Must Go into a Perseverance Mode Instead of a Fear Mode.

James 1:5–8 ESV
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
