2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
Ask you self a question,do I know Him and does He know you?
The Him, I am referring to is the LORD, Jesus Christ as the King of King and the LORD.
This is the most important question that one can ask is , “Do you know Him”
How do we know?
Today’s attribute of the sevenfold concepts of God will reveal to us how to a get a deeper and more intimate relationship with with One ?
Let examine the spirit of knowledge and it relevance and need for us today.
First let begin about sharing what the spirit of knowledge is not.
It is not head, book, or intellectual knowledge.
It is not the knowing of facts.
It is not a way to obtain superiority over other
It is not a third party knowledge.
It is not obtained by a casual acquaintance or a one night stand.
It is not going through the rituals of a religious service or ceremony.
The spirit of knowledge was possess by Jesus during His earthy and there can be imparted to us to transform us on the earth today.
The spirit of knowledge is revelation of Christ that give us the ability to have an imitate relationship with God.
You can have the ability to Know God… be close .
Not just know of him but to know.
All of us know of George Washington, American first president -but we do not him.
Many may have studied his life accomplishment; read his life bio.
But none of us spent time with him, eat with him, asked him questions.
I am glad the Holy Spirit allows us to know , commune, and abide.
The spirit of knowledge means to become one with and abide in Christ.
John 15:7–11 KJV 1900
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Jesus prayed that we become one with Him.
John 17:9–13 KJV 1900
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. 13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
Becoming one mean we know God and God knows us . When this happens we have yearning for learning the deep things of God.
We go deeper that just trying to see what we can get away with.
We develop a hunger and thirst for the things of God
Matthew 5:6 KJV 1900
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Psalm 42:1 KJV 1900
1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, So panteth my soul after thee, O God.
The spirit of knowledge allows us long for deep yearning for that give us ability to know God and see from His perspective
Ephesians 3:17–19 KJV 1900
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
People with the Spirit of Knowledge yearn to have a deep imitate relation with God
Moses wanted to know God to see the glory of God- God allow Moses to see his backside and gave Him the commandments for mankind to live by in chapter 33 of Exodus
Paul long for deep relation with God.
Philippians 3:10–12 KJV 1900
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Power of rescurrection - mean know his deliverance power that raise up from dead situation
Fellowship of suffering - means to weep with him to fo through pain, persuction, and discomfort because of Him- Like men at war
1 Corinthians 2:2 KJV 1900
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
The spirit of Knowledge allows to go deeper and more intimate in our relationship because it not just a surface level love.
We cannot know Him through books or the just the letter alone - through the letter ( letter killeth)
2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV 1900
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
We must know Him through the Spirit and the written Word.
It is a difference between knowing of God and knowing God.
Need to become deeply antiquated - cleft of rock was experinced by Solomon’s dad David when he was persecuted by Paul.
Song of Solomon 2:14 KJV 1900
14 O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, Let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; For sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.
What does the Spirit of Know do?
Gives us divine knowledge that imparts revelation about the deep things of God
Allow us to see from God’s perspective on a day to basis.
It will allow other to see God in life and began to ask you about the things of God.
Give us the ability to be a steward of our God- given gifts.
2 Peter 1:2–4 KJV 1900
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
We obtain favor with God
saiah 49:1 (KJV 1900)
1 Listen, O isles, unto me; And hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; From the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
Dangers of not knowing God
Matthew 7:21–23 KJV 1900
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Imagine a world that is full of knowledge of GOD
Habakkuk 2:14 KJV 1900
