I. Points

A. Destruction Decreed

What if the last chapters of your life are judgement?
a. Menessah
He did evil like the nations that God led out (v.2)
He led the people to do evil
Manessah led the people to commit idolatry
a. The mother is named. There mother has a great influence on their Son. Some of the mothers taught their Son to either honor the Lord or reject him. Mothers have a great reposibilty

4. We need to cling to the promises of God. We will on the things that God says that he will do. The promises of God will never break. God never fails 100%.

B. Destruction Delayed
Josiah did not do evil
a. This is shocking that he did not do evil because their is an emphasis in this book of the Kings doing Evil.
there is a direct quotation from Deu.
b. Josiah did everything better than even David
22:14—the King wanted to see if there was anything that was to be done to avoid the curse. They found the book of Law
God was going to judge no matter what (23:26)
God will judge us because of sins. we need to be careful to treat God like a moral machine. If do so so, God will do so so.
C. The Demise of the dynasty of David
ch 24 verse 10
a. things go bad. God’s judgement begins on the house of David.
2. everyone went to Israel when they got afriad (v.26).
3. it seems like everyone in the Davidic King is dead.
i. all the promises of God are depended on the promises to david (from Adam-to-Noah-to-Abraham.....God’s covenant seems challenged).
i. how do you get to Jesus, the Messiah then? (v.7)
