God’s Guarantee To Sinners
John 6.37-40
Introduction:
Life is filled with uncertainties! You never know one day to the next just exactly what will happen. In fact, the Bible warns us about presuming on the future - Pro. 27:1
Proverbs 27:1 KJV 1900
1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
James 4:14 KJV 1900
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
It’s true, we don’t have very many guarantees in life. I’m thankful that God doesn’t operate under that standard. His Word is filled with many guarantees.
God gives promise after promise that He is very willing and very able to bring to pass, Rom. 4:21
Romans 4:21 KJV 1900
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Most of these promises are made to God’s people.
However, today I want to share with you 5 Guarantees That God Gives To Sinners.

I. GOD GUARANTEES REVELATION-VS. 40

Note- God wrote 2 books the 1st one is seen in all of creation and the 2nd is the book that we call the Bible.
Revelation-that which is revealed.
A. Ill. Seeth - Before a man can be saved, he must see Jesus. This does not mean that we must see Him with our physical eyes. It means that we must see Him as He is revealed in the pages of the Bible.
B. He must be seen as:
Son of God, Savior of men, Lamb of God, Resurrected Lord.
How does one see Jesus?
The Bible is the perfect revelation of Jesus.
John 5:39 KJV 1900
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
C. Revealing Jesus is the Spirit’s work
John 6:44
(44) No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
D. Every man is a partaker of this revelation - (Ill. Nature, conscience,
Bible revelation.)
John 1:9 KJV 1900
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
(9) That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

II. GOD GUARANTEES SPIRITUAL REACTION-VS. 40

A. When a man is confronted with the revelation of Jesus Christ, a decision concerning Him must be made! (Ill. Pontius Pilate - Matt. 27:22; The Disciples - Matt. 16:13-17; The Rich Young Ruler - Matt. 19:16-22; etc.!)
B. There are only 2 possible decisions that can be made concerning Jesus.
1. Men can Receive Him - That is to believe what the Bible says about Jesus
and then receive Him into the heart as Lord and Savior. Rom. 10:9-10
Romans 10:9–10 KJV 1900
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Ill. Thomas - John 20:28)
2. Men can Reject Him - That is to refuse to believe in Him and to walk away
in the same condition as one came. (Ill. The rejecter may have a head belief
and may give mental ascent to the facts concerning Christ, but he lacks the
desire to receive Christ into the heart.) (Ill. Agrippa - Acts 26:28
Acts 26:28 KJV 1900
28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
C. Either way, whether you receive Him or Reject Him, you will make a decision
this very day! What will you do with Jesus?

III. GOD GUARANTEES OUR RECEPTION-VS. 37

A. Regardless of our past or our present, Jesus gives us His Word that none will be turned away!
B. Cast him out = To thrust away with contempt. To push away out of disgust.
C. Though the sinner’s sins are an abomination and an affront to God, He is not shocked by those sins. Nor, does it affect His love for the sinner! Any sinner who desires to come to Him by faith will find the door opened wide. (Ill. John 3:16 Rev. 22:17 - Whosoever!) (Ill. Isa. 42:3; Isa. 55:7
John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Isaiah 55:7 KJV 1900
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts: And let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; And to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Ill. The Thief on the Cross - Luke 23:39-43
Luke 23:39–43 KJV 1900
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Ill. Paul - 1 Tim. 1:16
1 Timothy 1:16 KJV 1900
16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Revelation 22:17 KJV 1900
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

These verses reveal the fact that God refuses no one who will obey the call to come to Him!!

IV. GOD GUARANTEES REDEMPTION-VS. 40

A. Jesus says it very simply. “Everlasting life”. But, those simple words contain a universe of meaning.
B. Redemption refers to the price paid to bring about our salvation, (Ill. The crucifixion) But, it contains so much more.
1. Salvation- Saved = “To rescue from all harm and danger” The saved man need not fear Hell! Rom. 5:9
Romans 5:9 KJV 1900
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
(Ill. The saved man will be a different man -2 Cor. 5:17.)
2. Forgiveness- Col. 1:12-14
Colossians 1:12–14 KJV 1900
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Ephesians 4:32 KJV 1900
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Psalm 103:12 KJV 1900
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
3. Justification- Not just forgiven, but declared righteous! Rom. 4:4-8. (Ill. 1 Cor. 6:9-11!)
4. Eternal Life - Not a future promise, but a present possession - John 10:10
John 10:10 KJV 1900
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
(Ill. Who God saves, God keeps - 1 Pet. 1:5; John 10:28 - Literally, “And I
give unto them eternal life, and they shall not at all, by any means, in
any case, in any place, at any time, for any purpose, whether they be
male or female, perpetually or eternally ever perish!”)
5. Heavenly Home - John 14:1-3
John 14:1–3 KJV 1900
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Revelation 21:4 KJV 1900
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
C. If the sinner will come to Jesus, he will find that eternal redemption is freely
available, and that a new life will be his.

V. GOD GUARANTEES A RESURRECTION-VS. 40

A. Our redeemer lives and we shall too! (Ill. Matt. 28:1-6!)
B. Men have always wondered what lay beyond the door of death. Job had an
inkling - Job 19:25-27. Paul had a Word from God - 1 Thes. 4:13-17.
You and I have the promise of Jesus Himself - John 11:25-26.
C. While the saint of God never really dies, we will lay these bodies down - 2 Cor. 5:1.
Our spirit will ascend to Heaven, but one day these mortal bodies will be raised from the dead and be glorified and changed into His image. Then body and soul will be reunited in God Heaven.
D. God promises a resurrection. I have just described what happens to the sinner who receives Jesus, but what about the sinner who rejects Him? John 5:28-29.
While the receiving sinner is saved and will go to Heave, the rejecting sinners will die lost and spend eternity in Hell, eternally separated from the God who loved him and sought to save him - 2 Thes. 1:8-9
2 Thessalonians 1:8–9 KJV 1900
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
Conclusion:
