The mind is an aspect of intelligence and consciousness manifested as combinations of thoughts, perceptions, memories, emotions, desirous and determinate wills and imaginations. It is the stream of consciousness within a being.
The Working of the Mind
The Old Mind

The Renewed Mind

Being Transformation by the Renewed Mind, Romans 12:2
Romans 12:2
And stop being outwardly conformed to this age, but to be transformed by your renewed mind, for the purpose to test for approval what is the desirous will of God, the good and well pleasing and mature.
We have a quality of the mind of Christ, 1 Corinthians 2:16
1 Corinthians 2:16 NKJV
For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Having the same mind as others in the Assembly, 1 Corinthians 1:10
1 Corinthians 1:10 NKJV
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
No Divisions - Divisions come from a carnal mind
Being joined together
Knowing Paul’s mind concerning the Mystery of the Christ, Ephesians 3:4
Ephesians 3:4 (NKJV)
by which, when you read, to mind (νοῆσαι) my understanding in the mystery of Christ),

The mind involves our spirit

The spirit is our rational part: has the ability to know, 1 Corinthians 2:11
1 Corinthians 2:11 NKJV
For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
Renewed in the spirit of your mind, Ephesians 4:23
Ephesians 4:23 NKJV
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
A mind set on the things of the Spirit produces peace and eternal life, Romans 8:6
Romans 8:6 NKJV
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Therefore, how we frame our minds directing impacts our actions, Romans 8:5
Romans 8:5 NKJV
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

The Workings of the New Mind

The peace from God which surpasses the mind guards the workings of our minds, Philippians 4:7
Philippians 4:7 (NKJV)
and the peace of God, which surpasses all the mind (νοῦν), will guard your hearts and working of the mind (νοήματα) through Christ Jesus.
The workings of the mind can be brought into captivity unto obedience to Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every working of the mind (νόημα) into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Handling Our Thoughts Through the New Mind

Protecting the thoughts, 1 Peter 1:13
1 Peter 1:13 NKJV
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
We have thoughts that allow us to know God, 1 John 5:20
1 John 5:20 (NKJV)
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us a working of the mind ( διάνοιαν), that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Framing the Mind Base Upon the New Mind

Having the same frame of mind as Christ, Philippians 2:5-8
Philippians 2:5–8 NKJV
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Framing our minds on things above, Colossians 3:2
Colossians 3:2 NKJV
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
We Share in a Quality of the Divine Nature, which makes the new mind possible, 2 Peter 1:4
2 Peter 1:4 NKJV
by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
The new mind is able to receive the things of the Spirit, and understand them, 1 Corinthians 2:14
1 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Our mind is the aspect of the combination of our intelligence and consciousness expressed through our thoughts, perceptions, memories, emotions, desirous and determinate wills and imaginations.
The old mind is focused on the flesh and is corrupted by deceitful desires
The new mind relates to the Spirit, understanding the things of God, and produces peace and eternal life

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
Desires for the Holy Spirit
Are in contrast to the desires from the flesh, Galatians 5:17
Galatians 5:17 NKJV
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
Produce the fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23
Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
