I. The Resting of Jesus vs. 11-12

A. If you look at the furniture of the tabernacle and the temple there was no place for the priest to sit down. This showed that their work was never done. If you are trying to earn your salvation then your work is never done.
B. Jesus finished His work. So He sat down. If Jesus can vest in His finished work, why can’t we. Rom. 8:38-39
Romans 8:38–39 NASB95
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

II. The Waiting of Jesus vs. 13-17

A. Jesus is waiting for the Millennial reign to begin. It is not that God is not working now, but He is working everything toward that goal.
B. Jeremiah’s prophecy is quoted here (31:33-34). Jeremiah prophesied at the end of Judah’s kingdom. He knew the Babylonians were going to take them captive. So, Jeremiah looked toward a better kingdom. (End of the world or revival/Jesus revolution movie ex).
C. Jesus will set everything right one day. As He worked to build the kingdom so should we.

III. The Legacy of Jesus vs. 18

A. Because our sins are forgiven there is no need for offerings/sacrifices.
B. Jesus’ legacy is that He is the only way to Heaven. The complete, and perfect sacrifice for our sins.
