Our mission as a church is to bring Hope to our community. We do that by being a Place to Belong, Church for the Whole Family. We want every person who attends here to have the opportunity to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and to Go out and Make a Difference.
Several weeks back we began something we are calling Our Story! We have been asking people to share the testimony of what they have seen God do through their trusting him with their finances. this week I have asked My dad Bill Turner to come and share. Would you welcome him this morning Church.
Pray and then pass the Buckets.

Turn with me to Romans Chapter 13
Romans 13:1–7 ESV
1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
Let’s take a look at this more deeply.
Romans 13:1 ESV
1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
Titus 3:1 NLT
1 Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good.
1 Peter 2:13–14 ESV
13 Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, 14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.
1 Peter 2:17 ESV
17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
Romans 13:1 ESV
1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
There is a line that we do not cross.
Acts 4:18–20 ESV
18 So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, 20 for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”
Romans 13:1 (ESV)
1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
Romans 13:1 (ESV)
1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

1. God is Sovereign!

Sovereign: a supreme ruler, especially a monarch

A rigged system and a stolen election.
God has been orchestrating His Plan from the existence of time.
Jeremiah 27:6–7 (ESV)
6 Now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I have given him also the beasts of the field to serve him.
7 All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson, until the time of his own land comes. Then many nations and great kings shall make him their slave.
Daniel 4:17 (ESV)
17 The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, the decision by the word of the holy ones, to the end that the living may know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will and sets over it the lowliest of men.’
Romans 13:2 ESV
2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

2. God Directs His Will Through Government

Romans 13:6 ESV

In spite of the Authority

In Spite of: without being affected by the particular factor mentioned.

I have served as your Pastor for 5 years as of Feb. 1.
In that 5 years we have seen amazing things happen in this church because the people of this church have gotten on board with the vision God has given me.
When I came here I had a vision of a ship surrounded by life boats. Each life boat represented a ministry of the church and all the life boats were rowing around in circles and the ship was anchored in place.
Over the course of time God showed me that we were going to have to build a team that would work together to get everyone back on the ship, repair the sails and begin to sail in a new direction.
We have done that over the last 5 years.
In spite of Covid we saw growth.
In spite of Church growth nationally we saw growth.
In spite of difficult economic times we have seen growth.
Why because we trust God.
Last week our sanctuary was 70 percent full.
We had our largest non holiday attendance since I began Pastoring.
Somewhere around 210 people in the building.
It was Crowded.
For two years we have been talking about 2 services.
Everytime we have been ready to jump forward we have been faced with some kind of Barrier.
This week as I prayed God reminded me of a fire call I worked recently.........
Then I talked to some mentors....
Why do theaters have multiple show times?
What would it cost to double the size of your auditorium?
What would the church look like with two congregations of 200?
As I began to talk to my leadership team this week and the leaders of the church it became clear that now is the time to move.
We have seen what what God is doing in Asbury in spite of what is going on in the world.
We have seen what God is doing here in spite of what is going on out there.
I believe Revival is upon us and the way we are going to make room for it is by moving to a two service
Beginning April 2 we will begin offering 2 services.

9:00 AM and 10:45 AM

It is going to take all hands on deck to make this possible and to do it well.
As a body of believers we are called to serve one another. Over the course of the next two weeks we are going to be putting out video content of how this is all going to work. Our key Ministry leaders and I are already working out the plans.
So in the mean time would you do something for me.
Have a positive outlook on our future and pray with us.
Stand with me today.
