Numbers 7:89 NIV
When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law. In this way the Lord spoke to him.
What was the key to Moses power? HUMILITY.
Numbers 12:3 NIV
(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
Moses’ humility was the result of his intimate relationship with God. All the miracles, the words his spoke, the words he wrote, his anointing and long life were all the result of Moses friendship with Yahweh.
Exodus 33:11 NIV
The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
Whenever the children of Israel enquired of the Lord, they would meet God outside the camp.
Exodus 33:7 NIV
Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the “tent of meeting.” Anyone inquiring of the Lord would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp.
We gather today so that God may speak to us. May God declare his truth to us as the body of Christ and may God speak to each of us, as needed.
The primary purpose for this sanctuary is to hear from God. We take refuge in this building from the cares of the world. We unite with each other for consolation and strength.
We consecrate ourselves to meet God.
We cleanse our hearts and our conscience from sin and defilement so we can be accepted in him. We renew our covenant with God through the anointing with oil. We know we meet God and hear from God only by deliberate acts of consecration, through faith.
Our primary assignment is to listen. “Hear O Israel. Only when we resist our own understanding and still our hearts, can we hear the word of life. We abandon all designs on ourselves and await instruction from the One who loves us. The key to Moses’ power was not his rod, but his intimacy with God. He attentively listened.
When Moses entered the Tent dedicated to the presence of God, he knelt down in the holy place and looked in the small space between the cheribum. Moses heard the voice of The Almighty speaking to him there. Whenever the children of Israel wanted to hear from God, they went outside the camp.
The voice Moses heard came from the Mercy Seat, between the two cherubs in the Holy of Holies.
Exodus 25:22 NIV
There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.
We have the Holy Spirit who Jesus Christ, because we have a covenant relationship with God and God meets us where we are.
The Lord meets us at Calvary.
Hebrews 10:19–20 NIV
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,
Mercy is here tonight.
This sanctuary is the meeting place. Not the only meeting place, but the meeting place. THE LORD TOLD SOLOMON,
2 Chronicles 7:16 NIV
I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
For Lent, I ask you not to sacrifice food or drink, television or social media; I ask you to add time with God. You will add to your consecration for the rest of your life.
I heard the voice of the Lord tell me, “If you want to be close to me, meet me seven times a day. It does not matter how long or short, when or where, JUST MEET ME.
LET ME MAKE SOME SUGGESTIONS TO MEET GOD SEVEN TIMES A DAY.
When you wake up
Before you go to bed
Before you eat
Before you let someone hurt or anger you
When something weighs heaven on your heart
When you have to make an important decision
When you feel God’s presence.
The Lord has chosen this place for our blessing.
We find mercy and grace here. Many have been saved and cleansed and called to service from this place and tonight we come to consecrate ourselves before the Lord.
It is my prayer, God speaks to you because you came to consecrated yourselves.
Oh, Holy Lord, we hearken unto you in love and faith. Please speak Lord. Our hearts await your word, like deer pant for water. We need a word from the Lord. Guide us, Oh Great Jehovah. Lead us in the way we should go. Direct our steps in a manner pleasing to you, in the Name of Jesus. May we follow his footsteps into the kingdom of God.
May we know you and Love you and submit to your authority and walk in your power. May we use to the keys to the kingdom to bind the enemy and unlock your grace and mercy. Pour down your Holy Spirit like a flood. Be a tidal wave of healing grace. REDEEM AND STRENGTHEN, IN JESUS’ NAME.
