Introduction
Peace of God. Have you ever thought What is the Peace of God?
What makes it different from the world? We know it is but how?

Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22–23 NIV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
In the Galatian Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. Love, Joy, Peace,
If we are going to answer the question of what peace of God is, we must ask ourselves, What does peace look like in the Bible?
Shalom
This is the Hebrew word for peace and it can be used as a greeting, a departing, a prayer, or other things. It carries with it the idea of Completeness.
Eirene
Greek word meaning peace. It is a state of Tranquility. It is the same as shalom it’s the idea That I am complete in Christ and I am assured in God’s promises.
Promises of salvation
Promises of need
Promises of life
And being content with my earthly lot. Whatever that lot may be: Rich, Poor, Persecuted, Free, Slave, Hurting, Blind, Whatever.
Content with the lot that God has given me. That doesn’t mean shouldn’t try to make money. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to get better. But content.
Peace is not:
Peace is not what the world tells you peace is, Peace is not being a wimp or Peace is not being avoidant.
Romans 12:18 NIV
18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
If possible as far as it depends on you be at peace with all men. That doesn’t mean you never fight. That doesn’t mean that you don’t correct.
Too many people have believed the lie and listened to the fear, That if I confront someone about sin in their life (someone is a Christian if not don’t worry about the sin worry about the salvation).
If I confront them then they will be angry and we won’t be at peace. That is just being a chicken.
We are supposed to correct each other in love.
Too many people don’t want to cause problems or have to deal with things so they avoid and ignore them, And that doesn’t lead to peace. That leads to bitterness.
Example:
Death of a close family member. If you don’t deal with that grief bitterness, anger, and indifference will set in. That isn’t peace.
Someone hurt you but you shoved it down deep. Maybe you were told you had to keep it secret to protect the family. You never dealt with the pain, loss, fear, etc. and now it is just anger and bitterness. That isn’t peace.
Peace is a great thing. It brings great joy.
Peace comes from the love of God and the assurance of His Promises. If you open your bible and count there are over 3000 promises in the Bible. Some of them are good, some are bad. Some of them have nothing to do with you and some do. And those that deal with you, You can trust that he will keep his promise.
But peace also gives us strength to stand when we need to. Stand for God’s ways. To have those tough discussions with people. To go to others and invite them to join the family.

Next Steps - Need For Peace

Some may need peace. Trust his promises. Pray in his promise to give it to you, He will.
Some of you aren’t at peace because you have things that you haven’t dealt with you have been to cowardly to deal with that issue in your life, And so you become bitter, hurt, or anger. You aren’t at peace.
Pray, But have that conversation in love in word of God and in the right place. Not in front of TV. Or on the go
Stand up and Be at peace
Matthew 5:9 NIV
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Peace takes a lot of work because it’s not just the absence of conflict. True peace requires taking what’s broken and restoring it to wholeness, whether it’s in our lives, our relationships, or in our world.
