Today, I have asked Bill Turner is going to share his testimony of how God has blessed as he has trusted God with his finances.

If you have your Bibles please turn with me to Romans Chapter 12. Today I am going to wrap up part two of the series Becoming a MVP Christian.
Last week we started into the attributes of an MVP Christian. I want to revisit the first half of these attributes before we jump in.

9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Let’s lead off with the second half of verse 13
Romans 12:13b (ESV)
seek to show hospitality.
Paul is not talking about entertaining people. That is how we most often view the word hospitality. Entertaining focuses on the host—Hospitality focuses on the Guest.

Always be eager to practice hospitality.
To practice means to seek to get better at.
An MVP Christian should be practicing at focusing on the needs of others.

Selfish people never have joy.
Today we are going to look at the second half of this list and learn to powerful MVP Practices.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
To really grasp this concept you have to take into account the audience of this letter the Church in Rome...........Pagan Practices, persecution,
A MVP blesses those who come against them.
Consider Jesus remember is the one and only Greatest Of All Time
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Luke 6:27–28 (ESV)
27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
Jesus just didn’t get what we go through.
34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
Consider Steven the first Christian Martyr as he was being stoned.
60 And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice,
weep with those who weep.
A MVP Christian seeks to meet others at their emotional level.
Romans 12:16 (ESV)
16 Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.
Never be wise in your own sight.

Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Galatians 6:3 (ESV)
3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
A MVP Christian seeks to reconcile broken relationships, loves others in spite of their social status, and isn’t full of themselves.
Romans 12:17 (ESV)
17 Repay no one evil for evil,
but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
15 See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.
A MVP Christian does not get caught up in gotcha moments..........
A MVP Christian accepts that they are representing Jesus to the world and therefore should be careful of how they are representing him.
Romans 12:18 (ESV)
18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
An MVP takes responsibility for their own responses...........seeks reconciliation.
19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
An MVP realizes that they don’t get what the deserve so therefore let’s God be the bearer of vengeance.

20 To the contrary,
“if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Proverbs 25:21–22 (ESV)
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,
22 for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.

23 He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.
