More Than...

First Paul states that we are “hypernikomen”.
Hyper is a Greek prefix meaning exceedingly, or surpassingly.
Nikeo - It’s a word we’re familiar with because of a famous shoe company, Nike, which used this word for the brand name of their shoes. It is famously the word spoken by Pheidippides as he ran from Marathon to Athens to announce the Athenian victory. In legend, Pheidippides whispered, “Nike” as he breathed his last. The word means victory over something or someone.
Paul is saying to the Romans that they are victorious, but not just victorious, but that the victory is surpassing. It’s not just a victory, it’s a total route.

Through Him...

Victory is ours, but it’s not just ours. In fact, we’re the beneficiaries of a total victory in the same way Israel was in the battle against the Philistines in 1 Samuel 17.
Single combat is a duel between two single warriors which takes place in the context of a battle between two armies.
Known as single combat, instances of single combat are known from Classical Antiquity and the Middle Ages. The champions were often combatants who represented larger, spectator groups.
The reason for this was simple. In the ancient world armies were made up of common-men conscripted into the army for battle. If battle was met, then many farmers, artisans, shepherds, etc. would dies and crops would be left to rot in fields, weapons and farming implements would not be fixed or made, and children would grow up fatherless.
But in Christ, you are made victors because of his victory! Christ, as your representative champion and you are a victor.

You are Victorious Over The World

When the Bible says the world, it is referring to the current world, the present darkness that we face.
Ephesians 6:12 ESV
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
John 16:33 ESV
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
1 John 5:4 ESV
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

You Are Victorious Over Sin

Secondly we are victorious over sin.
1 Corinthians 15:57 ESV
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:12–14 ESV
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
Colossians 3:5 ESV
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Victorious Over Self

Romans 8:14–15 ESV
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
We are not slaves to fear.
1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
God Gives us victory over temptation.
Ephesians 3:16 ESV
that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
The Spirit will Strengthen you.
