1. See sin for what it is. Vs, 1-2.

Paul saw this sin (sexual immorality) for what it was, sin! There was no sugar-coating it for those involved.
He said that not even the Gentiles (unsaved, heathens) do these things.
Paul says that it is “reported”, the Greek term means openly spread about. It was common knowledge that this was happening.
But notice Paul says they are “puffed up and have not mourned”. They were calloused to this sin. It didn’t bother them.
does sin bother you?
Is there open sin in our congregation? Are there Brothers and Sisters that are being ruled by sin? If so, then we are to do something about it.
this doesn’t that every time someone messes up we have to tattle on them. But if they refuse to repent, there must be action taken.

2. Take action against Sin in the church! Vs, 3-8.

Paul says that he already knew what he would do with sin. vs, 3-5.
He would put this one out of the congregation!
He would do this for the health of both the church and the individual. vs, 5.
He makes clear that they had been delivered from this kind of life, why would they submit to it or let someone else submit to it again. vs, 6-8.
