Interrupt last song in worship:

Matthew 6:9–10 (NIV)
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“ ‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Worship and prayer is how we bring Heaven to earth
Let’s call down heaven in this moment!

Intro

Story:

When was the first time you remember being so afraid you changed your plans?
Chubby Channy not able to stay the night until high school
One specific time in middle school:
Playing video games, think about sleeping and get sick to my stomach
Fake throwing up just to get my parents to come
Next day I am so bummed I missed the fun
So afraid of what could happen overnight that I couldn’t stay away from my parents
Fear leads to anxiety, anxiety leads to trying to control more, trying to control more weakens our faith
Matthew 6:33–34 (NIV)
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

In My Future As It Is In Heaven

-My present should reflect the promise

Pray

In the old testament there was a man that would tell people about God, His name was Isaiah

Isaiah context

-Prophet to God’s chosen people in Israel
-Challenged Israel because they allowed Babylon to take the best and brightest and train them in their ways and deconstruct the word of God in them
Sound familiar?
-Isaiah had a glimpse of what was to come but understood the future promises are for today just as much as they are for tomorrow
-This morning I want to talk about two ways Isaiah taught me to seek God well in my life

Peace is built on faith filled obedience

-The primary work of this world is the steal your peace and give you fear instead by changing who you obey
-When you lack peace you forget the promise of your future
-Your Future is secure in Christ and it looks like this
Isaiah 32:17–20a (NIV)
17 The fruit of that righteousness will be peace;
its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
18 My people will live in peaceful dwelling places,
in secure homes,
in undisturbed places of rest.
19 Though hail flattens the forest
and the city is leveled completely,
20 how blessed you will be,
-Peace, bleeds from an obedience to God’s word and submission to His plan for your life
-Faith filled obedience will always take your farther than you controlling your plans
-Righteousness is a Highway to the peace of heaven
-Righteousness is a reflection of the intimacy you share with God
Story about Will Hill
-Sold my motorcycle to an old man a few months ago
-Dying of Cancer, constantly coughing, teeth falling out, wife left him, brother died of the same cancer he has
-Yet the man has so much peace because He has made the whole goal of His life to honor God
-Some of us struggle to experience the peace of God because we don’t know the promises of God
GOD’S PROMISES FOR YOUR LIFE
TO STRENGTHEN YOU (Ephesians 3:14-16)
TO GIVE YOU REST (Matthew 11:28-30)
TO TAKE CARE OF ALL YOUR NEEDS (Philippians 4:19)
TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS (Mathew 7:7)
TO WORK EVERYTHING OUT FOR YOUR GOOD (Romans 8:28)
TO BE WITH YOU. (Joshua 1:5-9)
TO PROTECT YOU. (Psalm 91:2)
TO FORGIVE YOUR SIN (1 John 1:9)
THAT NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU (Romans 8:38-39)
EVERLASTING LIFE (John 3:16)
-Ramp this up, get them on their feet
-Is there anyone in here who is willing to let their life look different so the world can look different?
-If you truly want your life, schools, friends, etc to look like heaven on earth than your life needs to look like the one who created it
The best part about living with peace is that it always comes with joy, and not just joy but zeal

Zeal for today is found in the faith of tomorrow

-Zeal definition: great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective.
-A life full of zeal is only possible when you know what it is you are pursuing.
-We are pursing heaven on earth, today in San Diego, as it is in heaven
Isaiah gave us a picture of what heaven on earth can look like:
Isaiah 9:2 (NIV)
The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.
Isaiah 9:6–7 (NIV)
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
-Every day is a new day for your life to bring Heaven to earth
-What you did yesterday will not sustain you today and tomorrow
-Story of my life this summer:
Got fixated on my future, stop living in my present
Fear grew because I realized and became aware of my lack of control over my future
Anxiety built to the point where I had physical chest pain
The physical pain caused so much tension in my body that one day I broke down at a movie theater and sat in the parking lot sobbing
I learned in that moment that I was allowing my season to inform future
When you allow your future to inform your season, you will never break
-Build this into the song

Altar Call

-God wants your present because He already paid for you Future
-Your life doesn’t have to be marked by fear and anxiety, it can be full of the peace of heaven here on earth and you can wake up with Zeal every day
