We, as New Testament believers, have the ability to hear God’s voice.
The Bible says we have access to mysteries of the kingdom of God that angels don’t even have!
Not only can we be hearing God’s voice daily, we are supposed to live like that! Every day, hearing from Him.
When He speaks, He tells us what we mean to Him, He tells us what our relationship is to Him. He gives us direction. He tells us things to stop and things to start. He breaks the lies, fear, and confusion of the enemy. Every word He speaks generates confidence, peace, and joy!
In short: people who are hearing God’s voice are able to rise above what people say, rise above fear, confusion, and depression, rise above culture, society, and emotion!
In other words, all the tricks, and strategies, of Satan are broken when we hear God’s voice.
That’s our mission here at The Garden! Everything we’re doing is here to help YOU hear God’s voice all the time! To know what He thinks of you. To know the hope of His calling! To know the power He has available to you! To see the lies of the enemy broken in your life!
The #1, easiest, most effective way the enemy keeps us from hearing God’s voice is:
Getting us to believe God says something He would never say.
We have to know His character, His power, His promises so that when we hear a voice, we can recognize if it’s something God would say!
THERE ARE OTHER VOICES SPEAKING TO YOU!
The number one thing God would never say is: It’s not going to be okay.
24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
What would THAT Jesus say to you? Would THAT Jesus say, “you’re on your own”? Would THAT Jesus say, “There’s nothing I can do”?
What does it say when you think it’s not going to be okay?
What is your view of Jesus when you believe He brought you all this way to abandon you? To see you destroyed?
Since you started following Him, Have you ever been forsaken? Have you ever had God abandon you? Not provide for you?
Today the enemy’s lies are broken over your life.
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;
13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,
15 while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
