Born Again
Immersed by the Holy Spirit into the Christ

Redemption

Redemption is the release from captivity by the payment of a ransom
We need redemption because of Adams sin, Romans 5:12

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—

We are Justified by Grace

Romans 3:24 NKJV
being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
All have fallen short of God’s opinion, Romans 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Christ is set as a propitiation through faith in His blood, Romans 3:25

whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

We do not add anything to it
He died while we had no strength, Romans 5:6
Romans 5:6 NKJV
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Hebrews 9:12 NKJV
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9:24 NKJV
For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
Not Redeemed by Corruptible Things, 1 Peter 1:18-19
1 Peter 1:18–19 NKJV
knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

The Holy Spirit is Given to Us

As a Guarantee of our Full Redemption, Ephesians 1:13-14
Ephesians 1:13–14 NKJV
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
Awaiting the Redemption of our Bodies, Romans 8:23

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

We are Redeemed from the Sin Nature

We were slave to the sin nature, Romans 6:6

knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
The sin nature was a mater, Romans 6:16
Romans 6:16 NKJV
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
Through obedience to doctrine, we are set free from slavery to the sin nature and made slaves to righteousness, Romans 6:17-18
Romans 6:17–18 NKJV
But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Christ died for the sin nature, once for all, Romans 6:10
Romans 6:10 NKJV
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

It is God’s desirous will that we present out bodies as living sacrifices, Romans 12:1

Who Deny the Lord who Brought Them, 2 Peter 2:1
