B. The Fourth Sign (Continued)

Interesting Notes:
What were the people referring to when they called Jesus the “Prophet”?
Deuteronomy 18:15 ESV
“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen—
Acts 3:22 ESV
Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.
John 1:21 ESV
And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
John 7:40–41 ESV
When they heard these words, some of the people said, “This really is the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Is the Christ to come from Galilee?
Some in John’s time interpreted this prophecy as referring to another forerunner of Messiah.
Take him by force to make him King? Why?
Political Endeavor, Revolt against Roman government, but Jesus refused to be a politcal revolutionist.
