Marriage Counseling Lesson

Lesson #1
{ First thing first, are both of you SAVED? }
The reason why we are in this marriage counseling class is to see through God’s WORD how marriage is suppose to be GOD”S WAY
Genesis 2:18–24 (KJV 1900) 18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Marriage is a covenant not only between the two that’s getting married, but it’s also between the two with God
Covenant also brings major benefits to the Husband and Wife that they could not receive dating or living together
Question : WHY are y’all getting married ?
Genesis 24:61–67 (NASB95) 61 Then Rebekah arose with her maids, and they mounted the camels and followed the man. So the servant took Rebekah and departed. 62 Now Isaac had come from going to Beer-lahai-roi; for he was living in the Negev. 63 Isaac went out to meditate in the field toward evening; and he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, camels were coming. 64 Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac she dismounted from the camel. 65 She said to the servant, “Who is that man walking in the field to meet us?” And the servant said, “He is my master.” Then she took her veil and covered herself. 66 The servant told Isaac all the things that he had done. 67 Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and he took Rebekah, and she became his wife, and he loved her; thus Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.
How did y’all meet?
How long have y’all been dating?
Do y’all have any children together or apart?

Psalm 139:23–24 (KJV 1900) 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 51:1–4 (NASB95) 1 Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me. 4 Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge. [ David is confessing about HIMSELF ]
1 Corinthians 11:28 (NASB95) 28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

Note: God expects marriage to be until death and that nothing or no one should come between you all.
Matthew 19:4–6 (KJV 1900) 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Footnote: When there is a problem in y’all marriage you should ALWAYS go to the Word of God or your spiritual leader for the ANSWER or the SOLUTION.
