“RETURN 23”
Hosea 6:1-3
Come, and let us return unto the Lord:
For he hath torn, and he will heal us;
He hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2  After two days will he revive us:
In the third day he will raise us up,
And we shall live in his sight.
3  Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord:
His going forth is prepared as the morning;
And he shall come unto us as the rain,
As the latter and former rain unto the earth.
Good afternoon,
Let me start off LIFEWORD TODAY with this statement...... “WOW WHAT A MESSAGE!!”
I Just finished my lunch and am looking over my notes taken from Pastor Terry’s Sunday Message.
I would like to share them briefly with you.
Here are the BULLET POINTS that really spoke to me:
The message was entitled
“Everyone Has One”
I have heard this phrase with the same basic message, “Each One, Reach One”Pastor Terry share a video about his recent trip to the Yucatan, where he witnessed 32 saved during VBS.Today, Pastor has shared now for the second time his renewed , refreshed and revived spirit to reach the lost for Jesus Christ.
Some of his remarks, and my notes during the message:
Prepare the Way of the Lord (John 1:23 NKJV) KJV says “Make straight” the way of the LordJesus is the Straight Gate that leads to the Narrow Way.
Reach people where they are at....People are searching for TruthBetween false gods, flawed gods, and foolish preaching,...everyone is CONFUSED ABOUT who Creator God of the Bible is.
Those educated in Scriputures ( or so they proclaim), can not even COMMUNICATE JESUS CHRIST AND SALVATION TO THEM, LET ALONE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.
I’M am a NOBODY, trying to tell EVERYBODY, about SOMEBODY THAT SAVED MY SOUL!
QUESTIONS WE MUST ASK OURSELVES:
Why are we here?
What are we doing?
What is my purpose?
What is my ministry?
ANSWERS: - TO SHARE JESUS CHRIST WITH OTHERS
TO DECLARE THE GOODNESS OF GODTO BE A HOLY NATION, A ROYAL PRIESTHOODA VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS OF THIS WICKED WORLD WE LIVE IN.
WE, WHO HAVE THE LIVING WATER AVAILABLE TO US, ARE WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT OF CONFUSION,
WITH NOTHING TO SAY .
WHAT ARE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR?
WHY DO YOU FOLLOW JESUS,( OUR AT LEAST PROFESS TO
)ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT WHAT GOD IS DOING IN YOUR LIFE?
YOUR CHURCH?
CAN YOU COME UP WITH ONE NAME TO PRAY FOR, FOR REVIVAL?
FOR SALVATION?
I will add one more....
To you my Christian brother or sister, .... Have you EVER shared the Gospel with anyone since you have been saved?
Do you know how to?
NOW, back to my text and I will go through this quickly so I can keep it under 30 minutes, I don’t want to lose you.
I want to share with you what I shared in Sunday School this morning.
Hosea 6:1-3, will be our KEY VERSE , our memory verse, if you will, for our Survey of the Bible this year, 2023.
I have been trying to lay down a FOUNDATION for the study the past few weeks in hopes that you have followed along and understand our motive and mindset for this New Year.
This verse is my heart today, that we, as God’s people would RETURN to the Lord in Repentance, Revival, and in the Revelation of Jesus Christ to the lost and dying world we live in.
As we BEGIN AT THE BEGINNING on L.I.F.E.W.O.R.D TODAY, we will continue to put down some ground work on this study, and we will take more time on the book of Genesis than most of the other 66 books of the Bible.
The other 3 books will will go into detail more are the books of John, Acts, and Revelation.
I will explain the reasons as we go through our study.
I am preparing a RoadMap, a Flow Chart for myself to guide me in this study, and intend to publish it at some time this year.
My main reference and resource for this study will be from Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis.
I will also list out the other commentaries I am using as we go along.
Of course, my main resource will be the Inerrant, Infallible Word of God, the Bible.
With that being said, I am taking the risk that I WILL OFFEND some people when I share my views on what Bible VERSION I am using as the main resource, and I will explain that in the beginning of our study this month.
As I said before in previous LIFEWORD TODAY editions, I AM SEEKING TO RETURN TO THE LORD, IN MANY AREAS OF MY LIFE, and the main one is.... TO PREACH THE ABSOLUTE , INERRANT, INFALLIBLE, WORD OF GOD TO THOSE AROUND ME, EVERYDAY, BECAUSE, THAT IS WHY GOD PUT ME ON THIS PLANET.
I have not been as faithful in this area as I should be, and my goal is to follow these 4 Biblical Mandates which have become my LIFE VERSES, the ones that I always refer to when I become discouraged in the ministry:
1.
My MANDATE >2 Tim.
2:15.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2. My MOTIVE>1 Peter 3:15.But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
3. My MINDSET>“But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk.
And so ordain I in all churches.
18 Is any man called being circumcised?
let him not become uncircumcised.
Is any called in uncircumcision?
let him not be circumcised.
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
21 Art thou called being a servant?
care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.
23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.
1 Co 7:17–24
4 .
MY MISSION> I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry
So, enough about me, lets get into the LIFEWORD, and BEGIN AT THE BEGINNING of our study , with, FOUNDATIONS OF THE FAITH!
Open your Bible with me to Genesis chapter One.
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven.
And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
