Call To worship
Isaiah 55:1–3 NKJV
1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. 3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David.
Isaiah 55:6–7 NKJV
6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Giving
Psalm 96:8 NKJV
8 Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts.
Text of the day:
Matthew 10:28–39 NKJV
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. 34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

He Knows

1. The presence of Trouble doesn't mean the absence of value.

Matthew 10:29–31 NKJV
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Jesus is Preparing His Disciples for suffering and death. A person might mistakenly come to believe that because of the presence of persecution, there is an absence of value.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
sparrows where the cheapest meat a family could buy, they where the cheapest sacrifice that could be maid.
Those sparrows where purchased with the smallest copper coin in the Roman empire; and yet your heavenly Father knows where the all are!
Pastor John, How many hairs are on your head? ( He will answer none.) But Pastor John, How many hairs are in your mustache? (He will not know)
While Pastor John doesn't know how many hairs are in his mustache, The Lord of heaven knows!
to go a step further He cares.
He cares immensely more for you and I then we can comprehend.
More than a ton of sparrows.
why then would he allow us to suffer?
this is just the earth, there is much more value in the spirit world then there is of this old world that is passing away.

2. Do not deny Jesus!

Matthew 10:32–33 NKJV
32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
Jesus Did not deny you on the cross! He didn’t Deny persecutes.
Luke 23:34 NKJV
34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.
the culture outside the church blows this way and that way, but we cannot be a force for the gospel truth of the power of Jesus to change the world while denying him.
the world will call us all sorts of things from a lack of understanding about the truth because they are spiritually blind.
Down deep many of us want to be the cool kids. when we stand for truth against the momentary lie passing for the truth we will be canceled in this culture.
What is cancelled in today’s world was about to be killed for in the fist century.
the truth of God's Word, will and way will divide us from a world that loves the darkness more than the light.
John 3:19 NKJV
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
men loved the darkness because their deeds wear evil.

3. Truth divides.

Matthew 10:34–37 NKJV
34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
to stand for truth will often divide.
it will divide even in our own family.
Truth always divides even families.

4. Take up your cross.

Matthew 10:38–39 NKJV
38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
in this thing called faith we will all have struggles.
there real.
we still have to carry him.
