Hebrews 11:1-19, The God of Our Faith.

The power of the church is through prayer. We have to believe by faith.

Believe to the point of action.

Faith is the ability to trust what we cannot see.

All of God’s blessings come by faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Hebrews 10:38: Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

God is bigger than our faith.

The Call of Abraham. Abraham stepped out in faith. [Genesis 12:1-5: Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came].

Acts 7:2-4: And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee. Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

God remembered Abraham’s faith.

Faith saves us. Obedience shows our saving faith. Faith is the key that unlocks the door to the land of promise. Abraham walked by faith and not by sight.

Psalm 37:24: Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

Job 23:10: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Jeremiah 32:27: Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

Small faith. [Mark 4:35-41: And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?].

Faith of a grain of mustard seed. [Matthew 17:20: And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you].

Build up our faith: Take our faith and plant it in the ground and water it.

Abraham trusted and obeyed God because he believed God. Trust and obey God. [Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God].
