Three beginning reading a verse number 20.
It says then the multitude came together again so that they could not so much as eat the win, his own people heard about this.
They went out to lay hold of him for they said he is out of his mind.
And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem, said, he is Beelzebub and by the ruler of the Demons, he cast out demons.
So he called Jesus called them to himself and said to them in Parables, how can Satan cast out Satan?
If a kingdom is divided against itself that Kingdom cannot stand and if a house is divided against itself that house cannot stand.
And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but has an end No one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his Goods, unless he first binds the strong man and then he will plunder his house, assuredly.
I say to you all sins will be forgiven, the sons of men and whatever blasphemies they may utter, but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, never has forgiveness, but is subject to Eternal combination because they said he has an unclean spirit.
Then his brothers and his mother came and standing outside, they sent it to him, calling him.
And a multitude was sitting around him and they said to him, look your mother and your brothers are outside seeking you.
But he answered them saying, who is my mother or my brothers?
I looked around in a circle at those who sat about him and said, here are my mother and my brothers for whoever does the will of God is my brother and my sister and mother, let's pray together Our Father.
We ask you Lord once again.
To meet with us in a special way.
I pray.
Father that as I preach when I pray that the the spirit would move and do his work.
Or this is the word.
I've God, we stand upon it.
Lord help us to apply these truths to our hearts.
I pray, Lord for those who are lost this morning those who are not saved.
I pray God that you draw them to your son Jesus today.
Do what I cannot do.
And that is by the Holy Spirit, bring about their conversion.
And father will give you praise and glory for all that you do through and by this service of the preaching of your word.
Father we love you.
We asked all of these things in Christ name, amen.
As I said, it's been some time since we have looked at the gospel of Mark, I want to just kind of recap.
What's going on so far in chapter 3, at least this remind you about all that has transpired.
A lot has transfer, transpired, us.
Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath day, which the Pharisees got really angry at and I wanted to destroy him.
As a matter of fact, the Pharisees, the Bible tells us and Mark chapter 3 that the Pharisees and the herodians, we were enemies one with another came together.
In order that they might come up with some plan to destroy the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Never Last knowing the dangers that are out there knowing those that want to destroy his life, knowing those that want to kill him continues to preach.
He continues to do Miracles.
He continues to do acts showing that he is the son of God.
And though, and as he begins to preach, the crowds begin to get larger and larger.
And Jesus, at this point, in his ministry, is at its peak in his popularity.
The Crowds Are massive
Jesus goes by himself.
And I believe it's a 16, he goes up into a mountain and he praised all night long, as he is seeking the Lord, as to whom he is to call for his disciples.
We see in just the previous verses that he selects and appoints the 12 to do the ministry, So, for Jesus and his disciples, it has been a long exhausting, several days.
They are tired.
They are hungry, but as we see in verse 20, notice again, in verse 20.
Then the multitude came together again the crowd.
So that they could not so much as eat bread.
So once more the crowds descend Upon Jesus with, with their selfish Vengeance, and for Jesus, and his disciples, it just seems to never end.
The house is so full of people that he cannot even find time nor space to even eat.
It's all the crowds have completely become unaware.
They have, they have no care for Jesus.
They only care for themselves.
They will control Jesus.
If they can using him, only for his power to heal.
Unfortunately the crowds they completely misunderstand, his true Mission and agenda, and that is to get to the cross and to deal with the sins.
Of the people.
Well, in the, in the remaining passengers, scripture, we see how Jesus was thought of by different groups of people.
And that's really helpful for us to.
Look at this morning, notice first of all, Jesus's family attacked his sanity, Jesus, his own family, attacked his sanity, Other words.
They called him a lunatic verse 21.
Says, but when his own people, this is speaking about his family heard about this.
They went out to lay hold of him.
For they said he is out of his mind.
And his first attack in this passage comes from a very unlikely source.
His own family.
As a matter of fact, this is the first time that Mark mentions, the family of Jesus.
And it does not reflect well on them at all.
Now, what are the reasons as to why Jesus family.
Calls him crazy.
well, when his family hears about what Jesus is doing, when they hear about the massive crowds, when they hear about the danger that he is, in the hear about the chaos, they hear about, so that he's not even able to sleep.
He's not able to eat.
Their first thought is that Jesus has got has gone crazy.
The phrase were they say he is out of his.
Mind means exactly that.
Now, why would they think that?
Jesus was crazy?
Will number one, Jesus has called me and to follow him around the country, to preach the word.
Number two, he refuses to rest and take care of himself.
And number three, he claims to be God.
Now to Jesus family, they know that for him to publicly say that he is God was to put a death sentence on him.
Because of the Pharisees in the Jewish religious leaders saw that as blasphemy.
So, his relatives, misunderstood Jesus and his ministry because they could not understand him.
They thought he was crazy.
So, what's their remedy for this?
Well, His family came to get Jesus, they came to Stage an intervention, you could say you see that phrase, there, they lay, hold on him.
Literally means to take by force to seize Jesus.
They want to an Essence, arrest him if you will.
The Jesus family was intent on rescuing him by force, if necessary, from the oppressive multitude that threatened to tooth to smother him.
As well as from himself.
The family's desire to protect Jesus from self-imposed danger, is reflected in their conclusions about him.
For.
They were saying he has lost his mind, he's lost his senses.
Not marry his mother, who was there?
I don't believe thought that.
Before Jesus was born.
Mary had been told by the angel behold.
You will conceive in your womb and bear a son and you shall name him Jesus.
He will be great.
And he will be called the son of the most high, and the Lord, God will give him the Throne of his father David.
And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever.
And his kingdom will have.
No in she knew exactly who he wants.
