OBLIGATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF GODS GLORY AS ONE BODY IN UNITY

TO BEAR WEAKNESSES

same word as Jesus bearing His cross.

NOT TO PLEASE (serve)OURSELVES

TO PLEASE (serve) OUR NEIGHBOR

for his good

not so strong as to do anything and everything your neighbor says

to build (strengthen) him so that we will all be presented as mature in Christ

Colossians 1:24–29 LEB
Now I rejoice in my sufferings on behalf of you, and I fill up in my flesh what is lacking of the afflictions of Christ, on behalf of his body which is the church, of which I became a minister, according to God’s stewardship which was given to me for you, to complete the word of God, the mystery which has been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but has now been revealed to his saints, to whom God wanted to make known what is the glorious wealth of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory, whom we proclaim, by admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, in order that we may present every person mature in Christ, for which purpose also I labor, striving according to his working which is at work powerfully in me.
The Message of Romans c. Do Not Please Yourselves (15:1–13)

Edification is a constructive alternative to demolition. And this upbuilding of the weak will doubtless include helping to educate and so strengthen their conscience.

CHRIST THE EXAMPLE v3,5,6,7

Romans 15:3 “For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written, “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.””
The Message of Romans (i) Because Christ Did Not Please Himself (3–4)

That is to say, as an example of his refusing to please himself, Christ so completely identified himself with the name, will, cause and glory of the Father that insults intended for God fell upon him.

THE WORD OUR INSTRUCTOR

Romans 15:4 “For whatever was written beforehand was written for our instruction, in order that through patient endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.”
just like Paul just quoted Psalm 69:9 “because the zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those reproaching you have fallen on me.” the Word instructs us by showing us Jesus first
All scripture 2Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness,” 1 Corinthians 10:6 “Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we should not be desirers of evil things, just as those also desired them,”
we must patiently endure
be encouraged through scripture....dont just read “GET IN TO THE WORD”
HOPE WILL BE THE PRODUCE
share the story of the gloom parting because of the snow and rain clearing the skies so you could see the beauty of the sun

GOD THE GIVER

Romans 15:5 “Now may the God of patient endurance and of encouragement grant you to be in agreement with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus,”
God giving crowns as a jeweler…good works…giving, loving , fasting, interceding , sacrificing for others

TO GOD BE THE GLORY
