Paul Preached the Gospel and Discipled, Acts 14:19-29.

They were being chased by the Judaizers. Paul knows how to reach the Jew and the Gentile. He preached the Gospel. Paul was committed and demonstrated it. He preached the Gospel to allow God to grow the church. Many Jews and Gentiles believed. We preach the Gospel. Paul got stoned and got up and continued. He stood up under persecution. He stayed there a long time and left in his own time. When he completed his mission, he went back to Lystra. He discipled them. He exhorted them to continue in the faith during tribulation.

People need Christ.

Evangelize: preach the Gospel, the Good News. There is no other way. They preached the Gospel. If the church does not evangelize, we die. [Acts 14:19-21: And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch. Matthew 28:18-20: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen].

Exhort: They came alongside the believers and taught them. Be hearers and doers of the Word. [James 1:22-25: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed].

Edify: Build up each other.

[John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world].

We need to encourage and disciple all Christians, especially new Christians. We need to do what we learn from His Word--love, evangelize, encourage, and build each other up. We will go through trials. We live by faith.
