REVELATION - THE SCROLL OF 7 SEALS part 4
Encouragement from worship
Christmas Eve Service 6pm Saturday
Preaching the Book of Revelation and into this Christmas season
SLIDE 1 “BOOK OF REVELATION”
With the focus on Advent / helped maintain Christmas focus through Revelation
This Christmas season encourages us and reminds us of God’s love as John 3:16-17 says it
SLIDE 2
John 3:16–17 (NLT)
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
This John Three Sixteen scripture image is pretty much burnt into my mind.
Where do I still see this image from?
Well.....the last few weeks we have seen from the Throne In Heaven....Jesus opening the scroll of seven seals
SLIDE 3 “THE SCROLL OF SEVEN SEALS”
As we have been referencing to the Book of Daniel we know much of the mysteries of the end time was given to Daniel while in captivity in Babylon
As I shared I have spent a lot of time studying especially chapters 7-12 and so I feel impressed not to rush through the Scroll of Seven Seals too fast
The reason is so much will be taking place on earth at this time
We see a lot of hope from scripture that we will be in heaven.....because of the wonderful covenant in Jesus we have.
The covenant meal we do first of every month reference to the blood of Christ in drinking of the cup of grape juice (wine)
You know we will see also how those who have not received the covenant with Jesus, drinking of that cup of wine with Him....the main picture is this is by faith
We will see as we move on through Revelation that those who have not received Christ and are not in covenant and have not drank of the cup with Him will drink of the cup of wine of wrath
In fact we see that those of wickedness and evil will drink every last drop of this wine of wrath
I marvel at how God times things out, especially when preparing for Sunday messages
I’ve been working and designing this huge wine vault we are building
It will hold different size bottles so I needed to study them more
So I noticed something I wanted to share when I looked up these things
SLIDE 4 “WINE BOTTLE SIZES”
Now remember I share these things as I feel God has a masterful way of things spiritual or biblical are lived out by man or given an earthly example just to show how Sovereign He is.
SLIDE 5 “THE SCROLL OF SEVEN SEALS”
Well enough of that, lets focus in on today’s message
We have seen as the Lamb of God opens the scroll of seven seals
The events taking place on earth / not a vision of heaven right now
Lets look how we have gotten to this place
The Book of Revelation started with the supremacy of Jesus
SLIDE 6
SCENES OF REVELATION
Supremacy of Jesus
Message to the Churches
Scenes around the Throne of God
Jesus (Lamb of God) found worthy to open the Scroll
Four Horses told to “come” / Events on Earth
SLIDE 7
SEALS OPENED / EVENTS ON EARTH
1st -White Horse - Antichrist (false peace)
2nd -Red Horse - takes peace from earth (with sword)
3rd - Black Horse - pair of scales (famine)
4th - Pale Horse - (Death)1/4th of earth population
Since it is Christmas and the encouragement and confidence in Christ we have in His birth
We need to be encouraged as we are in this part of Revelation
Of what Jesus’ birth means and what He has done for us
All of this is prophesied in Isaiah 53 for us
SLIDE 8
Isaiah 53:1–2 (NLT)
1 Who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?
2 My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,
like a root in dry ground.
There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,
nothing to attract us to him.
SLIDE 9
Isaiah 53:3–4 (NLT)
3 He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.
4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
SLIDE 10
Isaiah 53:5–6 (NLT)
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
the sins of us all.
SLIDE 11
Isaiah 53:7–8 (NLT)
7 He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
8 Unjustly condemned,
he was led away.
No one cared that he died without descendants,
that his life was cut short in midstream.
But he was struck down
for the rebellion of my people.
SLIDE 12
Isaiah 53:9–10 (NLT)
9 He had done no wrong
and had never deceived anyone.
But he was buried like a criminal;
he was put in a rich man’s grave.
10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him
