Christmas Morning 2022
How cool is that, that Christmas falls on a Sunday Morning
I wanted to share with you a sermon I think I wrote last yr in the hospital
See they wouldn’t let me preach the Christmas Eve service so this yr I get to preach that and Christmas Day
As we come to Christmas Day and sort of the culmination of this season right
But understand me this is not the end of what we celebrate
This is a season in our world but as believers in Jesus who are not citizens of this world we have reason to celebrate Jesus all year long and twice on Sundays
For the last few weeks we have talked about the coming
The coming Promise as Jesus was promised
The coming Savior as Jesus is the Savior
This morning we are done with the coming of something
This morning we celebrate the Fact that He is
That He is here!
Isaiah wrote this about Jesus
We no longer have to wait for Jesus to come
We no longer have to sit in expectation and excitement of what is to come
Church He CAME
Immanuel doesn’t mean the son to come
It doesn’t mean God to come in the future
It means GOD WITH US
That is not a future God with US
Then Isaiah says it again
A child to us
That God would step down out of Glory and take on humanity
The way He stepped down out of glory is to come and be born as a baby
That child was to us
That was our savior to us
Today is the day we celebrate of that happening
That God WITH US is in fact WITH US
The God with US is here!!!
Matthew recalls what Isaiah said about the Promise that is Jesus and the promise that is the Savior
verses 24 and 25 tell us that it happened
That Immanuel is a fulfillment of that promise so long ago
Immanuel is a revelation of SALVATION to us
That is what it means GOD WITH US
This is what it is to be saved to have the God of the universe with us
You can do that this Christmas Morning
That is why we celebrate the coming of Christ because it is salvation to us
This morning as we move into our invitation
The invitation is simple
If you want to know Jesus in your heart if you want to have GOD WITH US
We would invite you to come to the front and speak with someone
Maybe you have questions about salvation

or maybe you simply need to spend sometime at the altar in prayer this morning
