Christmas Eve

Video: The Promise of Joy
Joy is a big part of Christmas. Even for those who look to experience it from a purely secular position, they see this holiday as something that brings joy. And I think that one of the best ways to capture a glimpse of joy is in the face of children as they open their presents. I admit that I love that.
It is a short lived experience, some of those things won’t even make it past lunch without becoming broken or boring but to see their faces light up when they get a gift that they never expected or never would even dreamed was possible is a magical moment.
My kids are getting older now, but I remember how excited and expressive they were over gifts. We had a neighbor lady once who would buy our kids gifts because of how much fun it was to see them open them. She would tell us that. She would say that her own grandkids were never really appreciative of the gifts they gave but our kids were just like “Wow” because they never expected a gift like this.
