Jesus’ birth absolutely phenominal - strange way for God to show us Love from heaven | Had to fulfull 300+ prophecies | His Incarnation | Mary and Joseph - Just living lives | Having plans | About to get married | Angel comes, mess all that up;

Immanuel - God with Us - God could have shouted his love from Heaven, but he came down and showed us His love here on Earth.

Fully God | Fully Man | Concieved by HS | To be With us - to fulfill the prophesy 700 years before

What we have to remember; Jesus left Glory of Heaven | Left Majesty, knowing what laid before him, born a virgin, as baby, go through all human pain, for the purpose of understanding our pain, Purpose = providing Salvation, purpose = showing us his Love, Purpose = BE WITH US.

King Herod - Opposed Jesus as King | Protected his Kingship | Troubled, greek word = Agitated | Captain of our own ship | We can have Jesus, as long as not our ruler | One way we miss Jesus, is wanting to be our own king |

King Herod didn’t want Jesus interfere with life, plans, money etc - not just Herod = “all of Jerulusm” - Herod ordered every child, 2 years under - to be killed because Jesus showed up.

We might be a mess because we need to put Jesus on the throne | Struggling in own strength?

Think we have answer to lifes problems?

Jesus is answer.

Put Jesus on Throne - Our Church | Heart | Life - Means we can be ruled and over ruled.

Herod didn’t want anyone over rulling him | No competition | We need to admit Jesus King, Final say so.

Submit to our Saviour This Christmas.

King Herod gathered all chief priests and scribes - asked- Where should CHRIST - MESSIAH be born?

Herod went to religious, they knew bible - Quoting Micah 5:2 -

They read scripture 700 years before to confirm this is the Son of God.

Surely - celebration broke out?

No, King Herod Lied - told the Magi Priests to find Jesus - To kill him

Jewish Priests didn’t oppose him like herod - dismissed him - They quoted scripture - Didn’t show up to Worship Jesus - Only 8 kms away

“Want to go to church”? meh…nah “want to read God’s LIVING WORD” meh…nah… “Hey want to be part of a mission, sharing the love of God “ meh - | Busy | Distracted | Got presents to open.

Jewish Leaders Dismissed Jesus - Following rules = easy, submitting to a saviour = hard.

The Magi | Magi Persion Priests | Probably more than 3 - Not scriptural | Saw glimmer of hope - Followed in FAITH | If you know bible but don’t go to meet the saviour - You may miss Christ - If the written word, doesn’t lead you to the living word, it just becomes another word |

Magi Priests went to Jesus.

I use to be a judgemental Parent - Toddlers - Now as a Parent - All I have is Grace - Don’t negotiate with a terrorist.

Jesus was toddler - changes my picture of scene | Magi come in, what do they do?

They didn’t miss Christ - Ultimate response - to show reverence.

on their knees -Awe, and Honour to the God of Heavens - Who became one of us - In the person of Jesus -wasn’t about them - They weren’t worried about losing status - They weren’t into dismissing him - They where into Worshipping him and giving him everything they had.

Gave him 3 gifts | Gold, Frankinscense and Myrrh | Don’t Miss this - Weird gifts;

Frankencense - why? Represented Jesus = high Priest - Intercessor.

Myrrh - balm, used for dead bodies, represented Jesus = Suffering Servant, Lamb of God

let’s quickly mention third gift - Gold - why? scarce, rare, beautiful, valuable - It represented the KINGSHIP of JESUS.

People expected Messiah- Jews expected Wealth, Looking Fly, Got the Sauce, Nice Drip - Can go all day.

No one expected born in Poverty | Son of a Carpenter, Born of Nazereth - Nathan Asked - Can anything good come from Nazereth?

The more He Loved, The more Jesus was Hated - This King - Meant to Rule with Iron Fist;

Touched Lepers | Loved Prostitutes | Touched Unclean and dead and gave them LIFE | Came and loved those that others rejected;

This KING, Caught an adulturer, helped her change ways, offered her FOGIVENESS |

He would ride in on donkey - Cheered by outcasts - those that were rejected by society.

they thought they knew him > they also missed it > Cheering > Take down the Romans > Here we go > Turned > Went to the Temple, OVerturned tables - Went straight to the HEART.

No one apart from those that should of known (pharisees) expected their KING to stand trial for something he did not do.

His Best friends, couldn’t comprehend KING, MESSIAH, to hang on cross, to be MURDERED.

Offered something to dull pain, rejected, to take on the FULL WEIGHT OF OUR SIN.

No one expceted this KING of KINGS to die a SHAMEFUL DEATH.

Breathing his last breath - They didn’t expect sky to go DARK, EArth Shake, World to LOSE HOPE, No idea 3 days later - Stone rolled away - not there, HE HAD RISEN - SITS AT HTE RIGHT HAND OF FATHER.

No one expected God - To show LOVE this way.

Love not what God does, is who He is - No one expected Christ to love us like this - Don’t miss it.

Times in my life > opposed him > Times I dismissed him > Aching in my soul > Longing for more, I know I stumble, Pride had to be smashed, Humility had to be grown, Idols had to be destroyed.

Jesus drew me to Him - Not baby, A king - Who stripped himself of kingship, born in a cave, for those in a mess.

Who did he come for?

Sinners - This Christmas, I want you to KNOW HIM.

Why religious not drawn to Jesus? reason they didn’t see Jesus = because they didn’t think they had a problem Jesus needed to solve |

Some of you are asking God what you should do, Maybe we should ask ourselves who does Jesus want us to be? Jesus, came to deal with sin, provide salvation.

When the Magi came - He was toddler in house | Saw star, 18 month journey, they figured Jesus was worth it.

Don’t Oppose His Authority | Dismiss him | let Chaos distract you | Don’t miss Christ, this Christmas.

Let me tell you about my King | Not distant uninvolved angry guy | Not baby Jesus, rightous KING of KINGS, Lord oF LORDS - Want you to knwo him.

He is the KING OF GLORY | RIGHTOUSNESS | KING OF AGES | KING OF ALL KINGS | HEALS SICK | HEALS DEAF EARS | STRENGHTESN THE WEEK | HE IS THE KING | SHELTER OF PEACE | LAMB OF GOD | ALPHA AND OMEGA | GOODNESS IS UNIMAGINABLE | GRACE IS IRRESISTABLE | DEMONS FLEE AT HIS NAME | DEVIL HATES HIM | COULD NOT STOP HIM | GRAVE COULD NOT HOLD HIM DOWN | and I WANT YOU TO KNOW HIM...

Let’s make a big deal about Jesus - LET’S STAND AND MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT JESUS!!!!! LET’S BLOW THIS ROOF OFF, AND LET ALL OF VASSE KNOW, SO THAT WE, OR THEY DO NOT MISS JESUS THIS CHRISTMAS!!!
