Zechariah 9:9–17 (ESV)
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Pointing to the Messiahs coming to his people.
Fulfilled in Mathew 21 when Jesus come in to Jerusalem on a colt. Everyone in the city that knew this prophecy would recolonize the message that Jesus was sending
THERE ARE TIME THAT WE HAVE TO BE BOLD.
10 I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall speak peace to the nations; his rule shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
The Messiah was to bring peace. Many saw this passage and hoped it was more the peace but clam of land. to get rid of the ones who controlled Isreal, and become their own land. The peace that Jesus brought was not of land but of our soul.
11 As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit. 12 Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.
Not only did Jesus bring peace he brought freedom. Freedom of sin, freedom from death. we are imprisonment by the sinful life that we live and if we are not careful we can let it take our whole life.
