Principles behind Vision Night
The Volunteers Meeting is unique in that I am saying the opposite of what I say in the services, in that I am looking and praying about areas of our church that I believe I need to address or strengthen. This truth about the order of ministry is one that I think we could strengthen.
Ephesians 4:11–12 (KJV)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
God has given us to help to the members in the work of the ministry, not the other way around. (me to you, you to them, not you to me)
The work is two fold (1) growth in the Christian life (2) ministering to others which yields in a church that is built according to God’s blue print.
My primary role is one of a shepherd/teacher. Not an administrator, though that is part of shepherding. As a fellow church member I will participate in many aspects of the ministry.
My prayer is that I will “feed the flock of God among us.” We should feed upon the beholding of wonderous things
Psalm 119:18 “18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.”
As we grow in the Word, a desire to serve God will grow in our hearts. I want to know what God is doing in your hearts and how I can help.

At this time the calendar for 2023 is pretty much a blank canvas.
it is not my preference. It doesn’t provide the structure I prefer.
But here is what I know. I am not made to “cast a vision” for everything and ask you to join me.
It has been my desire to make sure I am not in the Holy Spirit’s way.

As I consider this, I want to make sure I am not in his way by being in your way.
So I am thinking on Sunday night, the 15th we will have a Vision Night. I would like for you to pray and share.
