THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST DEATH

INTRODUCTION:

I DON’T BELIEVE MANY BELIEVERS UNDERSTAND WHAT IT TOOK FOR GOD THROUGH CHRIST JESUS TO RESTORE PEACE BACK TO AN UNSAVED SOUL.

IT WAS GOD’S ONLY OPTION TO SACRIFICE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON JESUS TO RECONCILE US BACK TO HIM.

HOW MANY OF US HAS GIVING UP SOMETHING THAT WAS SO PRECIOUS IN ORDER FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO BENEFIT FROM IT.

THAT IS WHAT GOD DID THROUGH HIS SON CHRIST JESUS.

A. THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST DEATH IS TO LIVE FOR CHRIST.

II CORINTHIANS 5:15 “and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.”

TO LIVE FOR CHRIST MEANS YOU HAVE TO DENY YOURSELF.

YOU HAVE TO PUT TO DEATH THAT OLD WAY OF THINKING OR LIVING.

YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR PAST BEHIND YOU, THAT DID NOT HAVE REFERENCE FOR GOD.

YOU OPERATED IN IGNORANCE.

PAUL REMINDED THE PEOPLE OF CORINTH THAT CHRIST DIED FOR ALL, IT WAS CHRIST WHO GAVE YOU LIFE, SO THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS LIVE FOR HIM.

TO LIVE FOR CHRIST YOU MUST HAVE DISCIPLINE AND CONVICTION, SO THAT YOU WOULD NOT SUCCUMB TO YOUR FLESH OR BE ENTICED BY TEMPTATIONS.

WHEN YOU LIVE FOR CHRIST , HIS WORD IS YOUR GUIDE, AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SEEK THE OPINIONS OF OTHER’S.

BECAUSE IF YOU CALL HIM LORD, YOU WILL DO WHAT HE SAY, AND WILL NOT FOLLOW ANOTHER.

GALATIANS 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

B.THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST DEATH IS TO ALLOW CHRIST TO LIVE THROUGH US.

II CORINTHIANS 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are past away; behold, all things are become new.”

THE KEY TO THIS VERSE IS, BE IN CHRIST.

CHANGE CANNOT TAKE PLACE IN YOUR LIFE UNLESS THE POWER OF GOD IS OPERATING IN YOUR INNER SPIRIT.

THIS POWER IS SUPER NATURAL POWER THAT IS ONLY TO THOSE WHO ALLOW GOD TO LIVE THROUGH THEM.

YOU HAVE TO BE JOINED WITH CHRIST IN HIS DEATH AND RESSURRECTION TO BECOME A NEW CREATURE.

MEANING WE HAVE TO PUT OFF THE OLD MAN , THAT IS AFTER THE FLESH, WHICH ONLY PLEASES ITSELF, AND PUT ON THE NEW MAN, WHICH IS AFTER CHRIST JESUS.

WHEN YOU ALLOW CHRIST TO LIVE THROUGH YOU THE ATTENTION IS ON HIM INSTEAD OF YOU.

CHANGE HAPPENS INWARDLY BEFORE IT CAN SHOW EFFECTS ON YOU OUTWARDLY.

THE PROBLEM WITH US WE TRY TO FIX OUR OUTWARD APPEARANCE , WHEN INWARDLY WE ARE DYING DAILY.

THAT’S WHY CHANGE CANNOT HAPPEN IN OUR LIVES.

FOR ME TO LIVE IS CHRIST, BUT FOR ME TO DIE IS GAIN.

WHEN WE FUNERALIZE OUR SELFISH WAYS AND OUR IMMATURE WAY OF THINKING , THEN YOU CAN ALLOW CHRIST TO LIVE THROUGH YOU.

WHEN CHRIST RULE INWARDLY IT WILL AFFECT HOW YOU THINK OR THE WAY YOU CONDUCT YOUR LIFE OUTWARDLY.

ROMANS 8:9-11 “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

C. THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST DEATH IS TO BE RECONCILED TO GOD.

WE MUST UNDERSTAND THAT IN ORDER FOR US TO BE RECONCILED BACK TO GOD , HE HAD TO REDEEM US OR RECLAIM US THROUGH THE DEATH OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST.

IN THIS GOD HAD TO LOOK BEYOND OUR FAULTS , FIND IN HIS HEART TO FORGIVE US .

THE ONLY WAY HE WAS ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THIS WAS THROUGH HIS SON JESUS CHRIST.

WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO STOP HOLDING THINGS AGAINST ONE ANOTHER, BECAUSE GOD HAS GIVING TO EACH ONE OF US THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION.

SO WHAT IS THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION.

IT IS TO HELP THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW THE LORD , TO BE REUNITED WITH GOD.

AND TO HELP THOSE WHO ARE SAVE TO BE BACK UNITED WITH EACH OTHER.

RECONCILIATION IS A ONGOING PROCESS, BECAUSE THERE ARE THINGS YOU MAY HAVE SAID TO SOMEONE THAT HAVE HURT THEM, WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO NEED TO BE FORGIVEN, AND THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO SAID THINGS TO YOU THAT HURT YOU WHERE YOU WILL HAVE TO FORGIVE THEM.

THIS IS THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION THAT WAS GIVING TO US.

ROMANS 5:10-12 “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST DEATH THAT WE ALL COULD BE UNITED BACK TO GOD.
