1. It made possible our redemption. (Vs, 5-8.)

Christ’s humility, takes Him from being God in the Highest, to God in the manger.
Notice the contrast of verses 6 & 7. He was in the “form” of God, but makes Himself of no reputation by the addition of the human form. (subtraction by addition).
He takes our place and Lives the life we cannot. Verse 8.
lives the Human experience just as we do, but yet without sin.
we have no hope of fulfilling the Law. So we needed someone to do it for us!
He becomes obedient to death, but not just any death the death of the Cross. The death of a traitor, cheater, liar, thief, murderer, insurrectionist. He dies the death of the sinner. He died our death.

2. It assured our victory! (Vs, 9-11.)

If Christ is Exalted and I belong to Christ, then i share in his exaltation.
Not as a god myself but i having received the redeeming work of his death shall know the blessed victory of His eternal life!
we serve the One who is above all creation. He may have come the first time as a helpless babe, but he comes again sovereign to reign.
Conclusion : We Celebrate in this season not just his birth, but the beginning of our redemption & eternal destinies.
